What does everyone prefer, grease or silicone for their damper tubes? If silicone what weight do you use?

I have logged a number of miles at our local carpet track with my F1 car. I would say TQ Raceway is a medium grip carpet track. Running 571 fronts and 575 rears, I have put 3 UF1 race days and 3 local Club race days on a set and was still competitive so that is about 3.5 hours. Depending on how competitive you want the times to remain, I would estimate you could go 4-5 hours with a drop off of maybe 0.3 - .05 seconds depending if you pit to clean and re-sauce tires. You would get the longest run time running 571 fronts and 572 rears. Just estimating, I would think you could go 6-7 hours before the side walls give out so probably 4-6 sets would get you through 24 hours.

I think you would need twice the amount of sets of tires. Unless you are planning to change tires every 30 to 60 minutes to give them time to cool down. Don't know if the tires would be able to survive the heat generated from them longer then 1 hour.

We used to run rubber tires on asphalt with the F201s for 45mins and would get many runs like that on a set of tires before we needed to replace them. The F104 rubber seems a good bit softer though so probably won't last as long.

Why not set an arbitrary limit (I would guess 3-4 sets) and let teams use strategy to see who has a "fresh set" for the end of the event? That would be fun, see who figures out the best time to put on the stickers for the race to the finish.

Can always use Pardus tires, they are cheap and so far are pretty good this year.
