I know there's a whole thread for the FGX - but what are some of the needed items to get it competitive? not looking to go the whole jackrabbit/exotek update, just using the standard chassis with some hopups?

thanks!

so based on what TQ carries - there's 2 options for fronts and 1 for rear?

so the ride tires are crap? or just not as predictable as the Pits?

Most I have heard liked the Pits over the Rides. I liked the Med front/Soft rear Pit combo myself.

I guess it really depends on the track surface, we have been having inconsistency issues and high wear rates with the Shimizu tyres.

We run on an indoor textured concrete track, that is fairly grippy and slightly abrasive. I switched to Ride and found the car to understeer like mad , but ran so much more predictably and smoothly.
I have medium rear and front, switching to soft fronts helped, as did some setup changes.Front end chatter completely disappeared too.
I have some supersoft fronts coming in the post and i'm looking forward to trying them out.
I also intend on trialling some goop on them after a couple of trial runs.

I might have to try them Rides out on my F1R...the Pits work but I haven't really been able to get the car where I want it...I get throttle oversteer out of the corners and push going into them. If I drive the line just right and don't jump on the throttle too hard the car is actually pretty quick...but it is so unforgiving that I struggle with it. One of the reasons I picked up a FGX...to try something different. Plus I really dislike the way the Pits glue to the rim and get cut by the rim so much.

My sentiments exactly they seem worse as they wear too.

I did notice the Ride carcass is a bit stiffer, which should give less sidewall flex + less chance of the dreaded traction roll

I found the 571/572 combo to be awesome on asphalt.
Only compared to foams though.

Must learn to read. I'll try the Pit combo above.

Answered: What rubber tires are working on carpet for the F103 currently? I thought I'd take it to the track and play with it again. It's been lonely since I picked up the FGXs.
