Another outing with my Schumacher icon2 this past Sunday and Iím still enjoying this car. I mounted up a full set of exotek tires and the car is really starting to shine. I did have an issue with the front tires raising in a few corners but I reduced the caster and it stopped doing that.

To save you a bit of time, you can use Createx's line. Start with their Autoborne transparent sealer and mix in the orange for your color base. Then spray on the orange, or mix an orange up that suits your taste. Next, mix in their flexible adhesion promoter - the bloodline stuff. Add in some reducer to about 10% or whatever works for you, but don't go past 20%. Finally, clear it with their UVLS gloss clear if you like it super glossy or their matte clear if you want it to be subtle.

Trying not to get into ANOTHER hobby on-road class, but if I did get into f1Ö, Schumacher icon 2, crc wtf1, or something else. Looking around the used section. one persons jumping out, is someone elseís jumping in

Surface would be primarily asphalt, potentially carpet. I run Schumachers for carpet indoor off-road, but my 1/12 pan car is a crc.

Lot of great deals on Exotek F1 Ultra's since they have a new updated car coming out next month.

I have a couple Tamiya F104 kits. While they can be raced or bashed out of the box, I felt that the stock plastic motor mount/side pod is a bit too flexible and can get warped from any excessive heat from the motor. This can affect the gear mesh/possibly cause stripping of the spur gear.

Tamiya sells a carbon reinforced gear case (#54330) and aluminum motor mount (#54166) that work better than the stock parts. Both of these parts should be easy to buy from TamiyaUSA directly or online hobby stores.

While you can find most of the stock Tamiya F104 parts, many of the upgraded parts are no longer available. I also would make sure to buy extra front a-arms (#51381) as they can get bent/break in a collision.

Awesome suggestions. Thank you!
Just got back from the hobby store to grab paint. Excited to use liquid mask for the first time. Ferrari single coat has been my go-to in the past, but I let my kiddos pick out paint. Had a dream of painting like late iconic 90's buggys(Kinwald, Fransis, Masami...) but I'll let the kids decide what they want. While at the hobby shop I let them know we'll be making a flyer and although it s a bash/crawl shop, they we're stoked.

Thanks all for keeping RC F1 awesome!

Any guides for someone jumping into f1? I come from the 17.5 buggy world and can work/tune that buggy no problem. On road cars, I'm very newb. I have a pan car that I tinker with but trying to make that jump into onroad racing before the season starts.

F1 is one of the few low-powered cars youíll actually use the brake. It probably will feel a little similar to a 21.5 buggy.

go check the main 12th scale thread, youíll find a wiki with lots of good info that translates over to F1.

Any F1 fans interested in buying my F1 for $280 shipped to the lower 48 States? Thought I'd ask before I post it later. I have a lot of other F1 odds and ends that I will include. Just to find them
