hope you guys don't mind... sharing pix of my Cross CF01'08.

most of the hop-ups are in there. also retrofitted a tamiya battery tray from an F103RM as well as replaced the front suspension to use a steel shaft (instead of the stock plastic one).

the body is a chevron... was originally thinking of doing a Toyota TF108 livery but go too lazy to mask the rear end of the car and the wing. the front wing is from Blade... and its originally for a high nose body... didn't want to use the elaborate one that came with the body for fear of ripping off the lexan attachment once on the track. also still deliberating if i should cut off the sides and install the rounded ones. :)

Here are a couple of pics of my freshly built F103's
Both are equipped with Zen Foam tyres.
Both cars have 540 J motors in them. No hopups on them. Rules basically state Box stock F1's except for gearing, tyres and bodies.

Man I wish my stuff looked so nice. I hit a lot of walls. Just so everyone knows here is how our classes will go this year for the 2009 F1 AllStar Tour. F1 will be open to all F1 chassis including the high priced spread like MLP,Alpha,Corally RCIndy...etc. 4 cell with 17.5 or brushed 27T. 5 minute heats and main. Spec F1 is 103 style and clones such as Duratrax, Cross, Tech, etc These will be 6 cell or LiPo with 8 minute heats and 15 minute main. Tamiya style wheels and tires only.

The Alpha Cup race in IL. this April will follow the same rules and classes. Keep an eye open for a possible Associated F1 car or two to make a showing at this race.

The F1 Builders Cup looks to be in August right now at a N.Georgia track. I'll give an update on this

Summer is coming. Let's race!

Alright...Alright....What gives??

What Associated F1?

robk 01-02-2009 09:19 AM

Probably the old Keil/Associated F1 from Germany

Vyger! Where did you find the correct Courtaulds decals for the side pod and rear wing for the MP4/7? I have 2 sets of the 90s stickers and one champions helmets from decal island. The decal island stickers look to be correct for the MP4/5b or MP4/6. The rest of the sticker set should be fine.

Thanks in advance,

John

Not the Keil. I would like to have one of those just to say it's here with me. This will be a project from some Associated guys to check it out. Nothing official and probably not serious (until raceday of course) to explore some extra fun. But if they win the Alpha Cup I have no doubt people will hear about it.

if i can borrow an orion 3200 2mrw i might make maiden voyage with DRnova's old f103. see what happens, sure will be a time warp
