I built something similar from Amazon parts for the series. I'm shocked to say it works perfectly. It's a 10 dollar timer relay, security ir beams and a 12v supply.

I don't have a timer violation signal, but it would not be hard to add with a second set of ir beams.

Does any company make a treaded tire for F1 ?

Our asphalt often has grit, sand/pollen/mulch/small gravel etc , and a lightly treaded tire would help. It's the only surface we have for 1/10th scale.

Are any companies making a lightly treaded ,intermediate ,or wet tire in the F1 size??

Pressure washer? I was surprised to get foam tires lol. Guess the surface is also sprayed usually after prep. Lol. Wow.

like they say- blow off the track and apply the cheapest soda with the highest amount of sugar- Walmart brand works the best. You don't need threaded tires.

I’m looking for a good tire for outdoor asphalt. Track temps will be 100 deg+. I’d also prefer a pre mount. What’s is the best current tire that is readily available?

Let me give you a little more background.

It is a Hobbytown parking lot with a few cones set up, not a 'track'. It's a windy place, but it's all we have.
We get to run there on Wednesday and Sunday. We run plenty of 4wd USGT,VTA etc and a 1/10 pancar class on 1s with 21.5 [a type of Corvette Challenge Series] , and they hook up great on CRC GT slicks.

The prevailing winds blow sand and grit on the rather lumpy bumpy surface 5 minutes after we blow it off.
I know ,its not ideal , but its what we got.
In the past 40 years of RC , this has been probably the most challenging yet.
Modern F1 cars , on ugly asphalt is a very difficult drive.
After a lot of setup changes , it's getting better.

Any advice on chassis or tire would be a great help. There are a few more F1s being built by the locals , and they should be finished within a week. I would like to be more of a help to them , as they always look to me for that.

I am happy to pass on any advice ,tips or tricks for running F1on such a challenging surface.

I run the CRC with the AR rear pod set-up. the tires we use are the Team Powers Med fronts and Med rears(sometimes the soft rears).What tire tractions stuff are you using? I would run a loose diff to help alittle. Our roughest track in a parking lot with big rocks and it is challenging sometimes. For anyone with a XRay my buddy runs them and just follow what Xray has to say- it works good.

Anyone know the size of bearing that goes in the team powers rubber front wheels for the f103rm?
Mine are original foam and the bearings are too small.

My f1 is on rubbers! Cut out the new body today. Gonna sand and touch it up tonight.
Getting closer and ready for race day. Im.gonna run it in the rookie class.
Guy at the hobby shop sold me a 130c drag battery today so idk about that. Lol.
