1/10 R/C F1's...Pics, Discussions, Whatever...

I was more interested in the front sway bar option. All of these cars seem to get "tippy" and the sway bar would seem to be a good tuning option.

If you read Xray's X1 description, it says a front sway bar is an option.

I honestly dont know how much of a difference sway bars make. I bought them for my Exotek and honestly it didnt feel much different with or without it on asphalt. I just kept it on my car since I paid for it. And honestly, if it did make such a difference in handling, Im sure every single manufacture will think of a way to incorporate it into their cars. Xray included sway bars in some of their kits but stopped and sold it as an option instead.

I think it would be great if the rules eventually moved to 4-wheel independent-suspension chassis... like the 1:1 cars.
It would differentiate it from the other pan-car classes.
It would differentiate it from the other pan-car classes.

It would be nice, but folks are more stuck on what is 'faster' and lighter...

This is where it takes a bold sanctioning body or promoter to set the rules. I love that there is an F1 class at all. I just think it's be more unique and fun if it wasn't so similar to other pan-car classes. Sure, the aero makes it different, but I think there'd be even more interest if the chassis were completely unique; the unique set up would make the class different from anything else.
And racers love to buy new stuff...

Any further updates on exotek reds on crc carpet?

I've ran 4 packs with them & still don't feel that they are broke in/working. Grip with them has been pretty low. Thought about changing my setup but first tried an old set of last years schumakers & wow car handled great. So maybe next race weekend I'll try sanding these reds down and sauce the crap out of them & see if they produce...

Also to add, after 4-5 packs they still look new...with minimal haze from black carpet

I've ran 7-8 packs on mine and its very loose, like to the point I have to be extremely careful with throttle or it wants to continue to rotate. I put the CRC's back on to make sure it wasn't the car and ran about half a second faster. May try them again to see if the backs will hook up.

How do you mount the helmet onto the F1 body? Do you use glue and would you use glue to assemble it?

Has anyone ordered anything from F1 RC Lab recently? I know its the Holidays but I put in an order on 12/14. Typically I'd get a response with a few days that my order has shipped. I've nit received anything to date. I tried emailing them and the email cones back as undeliverable. My payment has cleared. Just seems odd.

I used 3mm hardware but also a dab of goop.

I use use shoe goop. Works fine for me.
