1/10 R/C F1's...Pics, Discussions, Whatever...

GT cruising did you experience the same level of tire wear that I did. Great tire chart, thanks.

Great big thank you goes out to Exotek for designing a f1 tire and wheel set that not only works incredibly well but looks realistic.
thanks....
thanks....

As for the rubber compound content, i知 not aware of the exact specifications. But I do know theres a soft version that is in the works, which i知 sure will be awesome for winter

I知 sure if I were to rotate the tires, the wear would be much better. But the tire set new weighed 155g and after 12 runs it was 154g. So the wear was just 1 gram. I actually think that you don't have to use a strong breaking in tire additive (that may be what damaged your tires so badly).
For my tire saucing, it was 5-8 minutes full wet all tires. Then wipe excess with a paper towel rag and let sit moist for 5 minutes before running.
I also found the using a tire warmer for the exotek tires did not help and was actually on average about 0.500 seconds slower initially. On hot weather these tires tend to have the sauce get too tacky/sticky with tire warmers. Which is odd since some other tire brands actually did better with the warming

Got a set of the new Ride VR the other day and they felt extremely sticky and soft straight from the bag. I did my usual tire prep of saucing the warming up the tire and tried them on the track. The fronts had a ton of grip, a lot more than any Volante tire I was using before to a point the car actually felt too twitchy. I had the car setup with very aggressive steering as I was battling some understeering issues which explains what I was feeling. The rears, on the other hand, had little grip at first as the tire was brand new and still breaking in, but once the center rib was gone, rear grip increased a little, but I guess due to my setup the rear had a hard time keeping keeping the car together on the track.
Just after one pack of battery, the front looked like it had barely any use on it, but the rear already have graining on them which I find very surprising and dont think these tire will last long. Ill revert the car back to a more mild steering setup and see if this improves the graining or not for the rears. All in all very happy with the front tires, will keep an eye on the life of the rears.

Funny enough, I did do some testing of the exoteks without tire sauce and they were on average about 0.150 slower. Which is rather shocking since other tires without any sauce would not work at all.

Looks like the rear cover would have to come off and just a little of the rear of the side pods.

Still need to get a new front wing to be legal, but here痴 how it sits for now. It痴 my first F1, so any asphalt tuning advice would be greatly appreciated.
