I haven't had much luck using the newer compound tires from different manufacturers. The gravity/ride tires were way better and more consistent. Think the RC gods that ride released a newer version called the gr v which should be available here in the states soon I have a friend who's been running them in Australia where they were already available and he says they are comparable to the old ones ride gravity.

The rear inserts are way too hard for low/medium grip asphalt. It's like driving with solid rubber tires. I don't know what Sweep was thinking.

Agreed, all of these new tires are not that good- Sweep, Volante, Team Powers etc...
All of the regular racers at our track went back to using very old Shimizu 572's and original CRC's (572's). Easily a second faster than the new breed of tires on our medium grip asphalt tracks in S. Cali.

I hope to fix the F1 tire issues by this Summer

Here in Florida we have been trying out different tire brands. The two best for outdoor asphalt have been GQ and P-Ones. But Gravitys have been better. We race what we can get.

The best that you can clean the body with anything are RCDecals in UK. He is working on the new Hass decals. I am waiting for the new decals myself. You can contact him in facebook.

I have an F1 question. My car seems to be super sensitive to throttle input, especially compared to my other cars (Xray T-4 2021, Yokomo BD8 and 3Raacing Mini MG). I can't seem to punch it at all. I believe I have the correct tires for the track (low to medium grip asphalt) and changing tires does not seem to make much difference. Tight now I am running 572's on the rear and Volante medium on the front. My D/R is set at 74%, drag brake is at 15%. On initial throttle the car wants to dart, generally right but most turns are right. I have checked tweak on scales and that is not a problem. I have tried setting the Hobbywing Stock Spec ESC to a 7% throttle rate and also tried the softening value %. I have generally been running on an unprepped track which doesn't seem to affect the other cars. Is it possible that there just is not enough mechanical grip for the F1 on an unprepped track? Any ideas would be appreciated.

By their very nature, RWD cars are much more sensitive to throttle inputs (and traction levels) than 4WD (or FWD) vehicles.

Mall gave us 350sqm of free space to build an rc track. For surface, used paint primer mixed with anti slip beads. RWD F1 and minis were happy with the grip even with no prep (dusty, no coke). Happy to have a track walking distance to my house to play F1 again.

There are several other radio adjustments. Plus what chassis are you using? toe out 1 degree? As for tires outdoors the New P-one or GQ med front and ss rear. Also cut down your overall steering throw maybe 20-30 . As for traction compound find out what works best for you( Either Gravity -SXT).

Dirk is right as well as what you've found- RWD pan cars are best suited on well prepped race tracks. At the least the track should be blown and swept off if it can't be sprayed.

You'll likely have to add lots of weight to the rear (steel axle example), loosen the ball diff and go to harder front tires to start with.

Its easy to prep a track- Blow it off first then get from Wal Mart their brand of soda with the highest sugar add karo syrup and spray.
