Well for out doors we run Gravity tires. CRC's work great on carpet. I would change the front graphite plate to the narrow with the longer piviot balls. I would then install 45 springs front and side. move the transvere battery foward and lengthen the center shock. finally try a different center spring (blue). Send me your email address and I'll send you an picture of what I did.
One driver down here uses Hudy tires ? I had a hard time driving the first F1 but the newer version the chassis is alittle different and the rear wing set-up is better to me. Oh and tire traction I use SXT. Also use a Ball dif- gear diff for carpet I run a 32x92. As for wings I use the Mon- tech/ XRay wings front and rear. What traction stuff is used on the asphalt?

Default Also try Ride GR Rears

Also, buggy grip to clean, then either tire tweak (hot) or paragon FXII (white can) for cooler weather. I haven't used the Protek. You may want a different front tire. Kit Tamiya F104 fronts work almost everywhere, Gravity fronts might be good too.

Make sure you have enough droop- 1 or 1.5mm to start. Run the front ride height higher - try 1 mm difference to start. Also, the CRC car is different than most cars, in that the center pivot is further away from the rear axle than most cars. This helps on carpet, but seems to hinder it on asphalt. It's not quite as easy to hook up.
Exactly what he said. Also try out the Ride GR rears. No matter the tire You’ll need to sand them first and then rub a good amount of WD40/Tweak/LG1 or whatever tire cleaner/softener that you prefer. I have a concrete track with med/low grip, I’ve tested Ride GR, Gravity soft compound and Volante hyper soft white dot. Both with and without sauce(Tweak/LG1 mix) and with and without tire warmers. Ride GR outperformed both others from start to finish with no sauce and tire warmers(50°c setting).

For the fronts I’ve tested Ride GR, Gravity and Volante Super soft double pink dot. The Ride GR actually have a bit too much grip and will cause you to spin out when throttling thru a turn . I’ve had the best success with Gravity soft compound, they give just enough to not cause a spin out.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I managed locate what seemed like tha last set of Gravity F1 tiws on the planet. It is true, though, that the CRCs I used were fresh out of the package. Could anyone recommend a YouTube (or other) tutorial on breaking in/pre-preparing rubber tires? I'm new to rubber, having only ever raced foams BITD.

Just drive them. The CRC's do take a long time to scrub in.

As previously posted, just run them in. You will see the tire surface get similar to the picture I posted. As the squiggly surface smooths over, the tire will get better. Also look for the outer shoulder to round off, that will show it breaking in as well.

Buggy grip helps, keep cleaning with buggy grip

What fluid would be good for a gear diif on a tight, medium-high bite black carpet?

Probably something like 20k-80k
20k for med grip and raise by 10k Increments if you're diffing out of corners.
You’ll know you’ve gone too high when you start spinning out in carpet mid corner

On our tight black carpet track, me and few other faster guys preferred the gear diff over the spool for the medium traction levels. I have two gear diffs. One filled with 10K for the start of the day and 20K by the time the mains roll around when traction is higher.

One of the guys have gone to 5-7K to get more rotation and steering on super tight corners. I may switch to ~7K myself on the first diff. Spool can be very, very fast when traction is very high.

I believe you can make a spool work on medium traction

I want to try some Ride tires but can’t find rears. I like the volante tires but like the scale appearance of the rides
