just to add another point of view here;

in airsoft, one of the first companies was TM (tokyo marui). they made reasonable guns, but they needed upgrading to do be competative. along comes the chinese manufacturers. they sell the same guns, of the same OR HIGHER quality, with enough power to be competative out of the box. people now PREFER the chinese ones, as they are a much better deal. for less than 150 you can get a decent gun. TM's are 200+.

it just shows how, if these things are left unchecked, who knows what might happen?

I don't own an XRay, but I don't need to own one, simple need to be raised with a sense of right and wrong.

Coping someone else's work and selling is wrong, not matter how you look at it.

Gonna take more than a little bit of work to fix this...

IMO you shouldnt have to grind the chassis to make the motor fit, its known motors wont fit unless its done, so it should be done from the "factory".

Cool...another slang word that means reverse...took me a while to get used to the meaning of "that thing is BAD!"....now I have to remember "it's all good".. has dual reverse meaning also. Confusing huh?!?

You're right.It's funnier.But do you know what is the funniest of all? I'll tell you.I bought three of these cars from HK direct from the source for 140 $ each (shipped) and three EZRun 35A 9T brushless system from ebay for 80 $ each.I sold all three cars to some drift guys for 360 $ each and i ordered from HK a new original XRAY T008 for 420 $ that i'll get in a couple of days.Do you know how much it cost me? Zero $.This is the funniest.There is always someone who sells and someone who buys.As you can see we have a different point of view and im not defending nobody.

If these cars are so great why did you buy a real xray? You could have just kept your money and got one of these wonderful cars.

What will happen in my opinion is this. TM, a company that I assume actually does R&D and designs its own products, will get less and less customers. They will need to reduce cost to stay competitive and therefore reduce spending on R&D meaning the products will not be improved further. Most6 likely eventually they will go bankrupt causing product development to stop altogether. Perhaps the Chinese companies will start R&D at this point as demand for improved products rise causing the Chinese companies to become more expensive and someone else to start copying from them starting the cycle over again. Each cycle people lose their jobs just because we humans are apparantly unable to play fair. Personally I don't like that world at all.

You should know by now that XRay never discusses these kinds of things on public forums, or on their own forums for that matter. However Juraj and owners of other leading manufacturors in the RC industry have been talking about the risk that copy cats pose for years. I am sure that XRay is looking into this and at their legal options.

But that is not necessarily the main point for us rc drivers. The main point for us is that if we allow copy cats to take over the market we will lose out on things like quality, service, innovation, safety, etc. Even if you don't consider XRay and the people working there and only want to think of yourself like most of modern society (not meant to talk you down, we all do this nowadays including me) there are reasons not to be so happy with this development.

Random thought, but has anyone spotted the irony that the first competition TC to get copied....was a copy of one of the only kits on the market that comes with a certificate of authenticity in each kit box?

academy read my post a few pages back. I busted out the seller on the authenticity certificate AND the hudy drive shafts. He ha s edited his listing and now no longer claims there is an authenticity certificate OR hudy driveshafts.

My touring car is a t1 I got on ebay for 90 bucks. In a seperate auction I got more parts than I will ever use for 33 bucks. TONS of parts NIB! I did a tally and the price of everything at the cost on the price tags on the packages was almost 1100 bucks! I think the 123 dollars i have invested is a much better deal than a 200 buck knock off. Buy the real thing! ---Even if you can't afford a new one!
