www.teamxray.com The 009 is up there now and you can see that there is not a major overhaul. The 009 basically just comes with the alumn drive shafts and lightweight parts, is anodize orange and has plates to raise the top deck for Lipo packs. The only major change I seen was the batteries are moved out slightly to allow easier pinion gear clearance. There are also some new ecentrics for raising the diff's. Other than that not much has changed.

Edit: Also I feel better for Drew Ellis. I was thinking for a while that Xray had ruined his credibility...he's now vindicated...for the most part

It's a 008 wit a few lighter parts.
I like the Xray website were it has pictures of the 009 and the word 'Optimised';
Hmm, wouldn't it have been better to have taken the fastest expanding form of propulsion into account when designing the '008
Still, I'm sure it will as impressive as it's predecessor (that's not meant to be sarcastic)

I'm not a big fan of dark anodized colors. It seems to make cars look dirty.

I welcome the '009
I welcome the '009 product offering. I have been using a '007 for the last two years and didn't want to buy the '008 plus upgrades on a piece by piece basis. Now I can just step up to the complete kit and make the transition all at once.
I was considering another brand just to put something new together, but now have renewed interest in the Xray T2 platform. This is a win-win from my perspective.

Only difference I can find is the rear driveshafts/cups and the orange parts.

what i like about xray cars are the narrow top deck.
Orange anonized looks funny but nice , differente color then normal cars.

Pretty much. I like the lipo plates for the upper deck. That may be the only upgrade I buy. I shim my upper deck up .5mm now but I like how they are doing with the 009. As for the lightweight drive shafts and axles I can't see paying $80 to upgrade that on my car...not right away at least.

Ford, Chevy, and Dodge do NOT release totally redesigned cars every year. They go in generations of several years before a total redesign is made. Trust me, I travel to new car dealers every day installing accessories on vehicles.
Second.
If auto manufacturers did release a new car every year, you wouldn't have vehicle owners thinking they need to sell the vehicle they just purchased last year to get the latest, greatest, in order to compete.
Third.
You are right "they're not even race cars". Which simply substantiates my second point.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYBODY!!!
