If auto manufacturers did release a new car every year, you wouldn't have vehicle owners thinking they need to sell the vehicle they just purchased last year to get the latest, greatest, in order to compete.

Third.
You are right "they're not even race cars". Which simply substantiates my second point.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYBODY!!!
You can not compare Auto Manufacturing to hobby grade products.
The economies of scale that are used in both markets do not correlate.

Don't get me wrong, X ray cars are works of art, all of them. I owned a T1 Evo2 it had the best fit and finish of ANY car I've built in 12 years. Drivers get frustrated when the car they bought is obsolete after one season of racing. Which is why I sold my T1 Evo2 in the first place. How much of it is technology, and how much of it is marketing?

Eh, noone noticed possibility of moving that part of rear bulkhead, where motor is mounted more to the front? Of course you'll need buy new belts and top deck, but that possibility is there.

Ok so if it's just a refinement of the '08, is there a possibility of a less expensive upgrade kit for owners of the current car?

For next year I want to buy a new xray, but now I doubt between the '008 and the '009... This because the '008 has an 5cel lower deck (and in europe we drive 5 cell, so i think you can get a better weight balance with the 5 cel lower deck) and because I'm not so sure or the new driveshafts are an improvement. What do you guys think of the new driveshafts? Don't you think they are less durable because of the new material? Or are they more durable because they've less rotating mass?

For the driveshafts its only the lighter ones in the rear which doesn't see much stress at all and should be just find on durability. The 6 cell chassis on the 008 actually will give you 2 (front and rear) battery positions instead of the centered 5 cell chassis. Ive never ran 5 cell though so I cant give much advice here.

Hmm, the 5cell chassis wasn't a question actually, with the 5cell lower deck you've just got a better weight balance, and the "two options" of placing you're battery are funny, but practically you see all drivers put the cells in front and a ballance weight (because we are to light we will have to put 10-30 grams lead, so the advantage of aluminium driveshafts isn't necassary too) at the rear. Its true that the rear drive shafts have less stress than the ones in front, but last season I had either to replace the rear as the front driveshafts (front more times, that's true), so wear should always be...

But are the leightweight WHEEL AXLES also only at rear? (cant find that specific at the xray site) I liked the old types because you could use them two times because of the 4 holes
