Default ESC cutting out problem

I've started the car up, the battery is fine and charged, the motor is fine but the ESC will sometimes work and then cut out after about a minute, it is heating up quite a lot in this time and the connection between the battery and the ESC is getting very hot in the space of a minute. Anyone got any ideas what it could be? It definately can't be the normal thermals because it would run for a lot longer.

Any info please Thanks.

It sounds to me like you have a bad connection somewhere. Check all of your solder joints and change your banana plugs.
