Here's is an interesting thread:

http://radiocontrolzone.com/showthre...ghlight=1%2F12

Hard to believe that was 4 years ago! The last page has the most interesting part, a 3S micro motor set-up!

I think I'm going to try again with the 3S small motor combo, just for fun. Should be lighter, faster and cheaper.

The future of 1/12th is looking up. We have about 6 or 7 guys every wed night. The biggest we have had was 2 heats, about 18 guys. I know thats not that big but to always have a class, even in the summer has gotta tell you somthing. Im thinking this winter we will have 2 heats all the time. More and more guys are saying they like watching them and are thinking about running them.

I think the last two round cell guys converted over to lipo last week. No more brushed motors or round cell here.

We're still running round cells out here due to insurance issues...and hope to change that soon...

But 1/12th future out here is looking good when at our last race we had more 1/12th drivers than any other class.

I think its funny that two years ago when I floated the idea of single cell lipo for 1/12th here I was almost drug into the street and beaten to death. Guys swore the class was perfect and lipo would kill it...how times change

Thats fine.... springers work better anyways.
After a few years , "T" or even "L" bars will be all but gone.
That 5.1 looks pretty sweet!

There are still plenty of complainers out there. Personally, I'm looking foreward to running some single cell mod this winter.

You know John, that's a very narrow opinion you have there. Kinda common for you though. Isn't one of the biggest complaints about Touring cars and now 1/8th on and off road buggies is how similar the cars look. Do you really want to see all 1/12ths look the same. Thankfully Speedzone is working on a single cell Lipo saddle.

Single cell won't kill the T-plate car. I'm prototyping and testing a single cell T-plate car right now. The single cell sits in the center of the car for perfect balance. The future is still bright for loyal followers of T-plate cars.

I think it was Slapmaster that was trying this flush mounted T-bar concept also, pls keep us updated on your progress; like Nash I like T-bars too.
