redrc.net hacked?

Just did the usual work thing, typed the address to redrc.net into google, search away, and I get one of those generic search pages.

Anyone else having trouble getting to the site?

Yep, same here in Holland.

Just now I wanted to find out about the ETS race. Damn. :flaming:

Same here in topeka ks...

Solid G 10-12-2008 10:26 AM

PWNED! They forget to renew their domain registration and someone in Holland bought it up from under them.

New owner as of two days ago...

Man, what a snafu!

It's such a good site too, I wonder if having to change domain names might kill it's traffic when it eventually gets back online...

Hopefully the squatter won't charge them too much to get it back :sneaky:

Eoghain O Briain is the guy that runs Red RC - or at least one of the guys behind it.

I went there looking for the ETS results as wel!

Solid G 10-12-2008 10:35 AM

Well if the owner is correct, then it's a DNS error and/or hack. It was just too fishy that the domain records were just updated 2 days ago.

Yes, still happening.

Uga 10-12-2008 11:02 AM

Hope the page gets back online soon, it's a #1 RC news site.

K_Spec_RC 10-12-2008 11:06 AM

working fine for me... The ETS page is down, but that seems to be it.

Scotty Ernst 10-12-2008 11:08 AM

HI guys,

Scotty Ernst here, We just got done with things and I wanted to let everyone know what is going on. As you guys can see and have commented, our site REDRC.NET was indeed Hi Jacked at about 3pm our time in Germany. It is actually very flatering that they deemed it important enough of a site to do the work to Hi-Jack it. So things have been done to correct it, but it will take many hours for the DNS to reset. The ets site within the page is still active and you can use this link to read the updates for the race.

http://ets.redrc.net/

Marc did take the overall win and Stocker made it back to back victories.

Thanks for your support and we will get the rest of the updates up tomorrow.

Thanks
Scotty and Oisin
