Default Battery Tapping alternatives

To tape nimh or lipo batteries to the chassis, is there any other kind of tape that can be used to replace the expensive RC battery tapes??

The reason I ask is because those RC battery tapes are kinda expensive for their purpose so I was wondering is there any other kinda of tape that can be used for the same purpose but cost less money...

Go to a hardware store and buy some strapping tape for around $3.00 a roll. That's all "battery tape" is. Don't be fooled into paying $10 for RC battery tape. Our track owner sells large rolls of black strapping tape for $2.50 I think. So there are cheaper alternatives to RC brand tapes.

Go velcro. Easy battery change out, and no need to keep buying tape. I'm sure you could find some at any fabric or craft store.
