Default Cheap Battery Hook Up Locally !!!!!!!!!!!

I found cheapo batteries and chargers LOCALLY, and there actually NOT BAD

first a short story
I have four 3,000 mah packs and a peak charger on the way from ebay.

I paid $45 shipped for all four packs and $50 shipped for the charger

BUT, my problem is "like any big kid" I WANNA PLAY NOW

I called every local hobby shop for a cheap quick fix, average price on a 3000 pack was $60, average price on a 1400 "or some insanly low number" pack was $20

then a cheap charger was $30

so for $50 I could get rolling but man I didnt want to spend $50 on some stuff I just bought and am waiting for.

so then it accured to me "call RADIOSHACK"

and sure enough they had a package deal for a 5hr charger ni-cd or nimh and a battery pack for $30, man $30

so I go up there to pick it up thinking it would be a 1400mah or some again insanly low number and to my suprise it was a 2000mah pack with a charger.

I jumped all over it, and for a couple bucks more you could get the 3000mah pack bundle

here is a link to their website for all the r/c batteries
radioshack

and here is the exact one I picked up
charger and battery

just thought I would share that for people who need some batts and a charger cheap, or for people who just need a back up system

ever hear the saying, "you get what you pay for"? just think, with that 5 hour charger you'll get to run your car maybe twice a day, that is if you get up early enough to start charging.

The other two are right, you got hosed. I hope you aren't racing in competition. Those packs are good for bashing in your backyard, but you will get your butt handed to you in a real race. You should have looked a little harder on ebay and found stuff you could have really used.

No you guys dont understand

I DONT RACE, lol

I bought the car for parking lot fun, its just a toy, and when my 4 other packs arrive I am sure 5 packs will be more then enough for playing around.

Why in the world would I spend $60 or over $100 on a battery just to go cruising up and down the road or around in parking lots?

You guys didnt read the whole first post it was just a batter to get me rolling until me other packs arrive, basically just so I can check every thing on the car out.

and besides who in there right mind on this forum is gonna tell me that a hobby shop 1400 pack is gonna outlast my radioshack 2000 pack?

Even if its the worse 2000 pack in the world it has certain production standards it has to meet to be considered a 2000mah battery pack.

You have to remember we are compairing a 2000 to a 1400 for the same price, not a 2000 to a 2000 for the same price.

Hopefully that clears soem stuff up

cheers

Maybe there is some confusion on your part. This forum is usually visited and used by racers.Whether sport/club or serious but racers none the less. The equipment you mentioned is something even a sport/club racer would not even use. Not saying noone is appreciative for the info, but try to understand the equipment from radio shack is substandard and your Thread title could be a little misconstrued.People were thinking you had race stuff at a goon price.Again,no harm no foul.

dude i have 3300 gp's for racing, Trinity 1700 sport packs for playing. i picked up some of those Radio shack 3000 mah packs just for the heck of it, and guess how much longer they last than my 1700 sport packs. give up? zero, zip, nothing. those packs are bunk. they dump quick and they have no punch.

Even if you don't race... you can get a great pack for $30.00
check Fukuyama cells at:

http://www.fukuyamaracing.com/page2.html

After using these cells... you'll not want anything else..

I dont think I will need any more packs for a little while though, in the next couple days I will have 5, and 4 of them are 3000mah "NOT RADIOSHACK PACKS"

You kinda got torn up in this forum, but you might get a better response in the Rookie Forum. There are a lot of people who are looking for the cheaper deals in there (although Fukuyama is the best deal avalible) and might appreciate the RS packs.

IT doesnt matter if you race or are just backyard bashing.. 30$ for those cells is a total rip off. They arent worth more then 10 or 15$ TOPS. Follow the link to fukuyama cells... the best you can get for a SPECTACULAR price.. 29.99 for the 1.150s!
