I think most newer cars on the market were design with lipo in the back of the mind like Mi3 can exept a 5000 mak so can the TRF416 and there are lipo conversions on the market for such cars as TRF415 (exept t2008 that top deck is LOOOOOOW J/K)

I make a steel plate that locks in the chassis under the lipo that equals the
weight of a 4200 nickel metal.

I would suggest to wait for the next concept from kyosho... Since they bought Orion, i seems plausible that the car will be dedicated to lipo. Isn't it ?

Also there is a company that gets cars and totally redesign the top deck bottoms deck to allow MASSIVE lipos

Easiest way to 'update' a standard TC chassis for lipo would be to extend the chassis on the battery side all the way out almost to the body and set the lipo out as far from the center of the car as possible. Much like oval pan cars have been doing for a long time. With this setup, you wouldn't need to add 7.5 oz of lead to balance the car side to side. Corally has already come out with a retaining plate for the Phi that shifts the lipos out from under the top deck so you can use 5000+ mAh lipos, and make it easier to balance the car. http://www.corallyusa.com/istar.asp?a=6&id=SRC79863!SRC

yes they did but hanging the weight off the side of the car is not the best way to balance the car.

being a RDX PHI owner with the new lipo tray i have to say the car is very balanced, well designed, and still just as fast.
it just shifts the rear of the pack outward away from the top deck and actually help to balance the weight of the motor hanging out of the other side of the car.
xray could do the same, their just slow with new products

it's not? i always thought if you had lighter weight on one side of the center line it would need to be farther from the center line to equal heavier weight on the other side that is closer to the center line.

Does taping a lipo on the side (T2, TC5...) affect chassis flex? NIMH did flex with the chassis.

the team magic is best suited for the moment, because the losi doesnt exactly fit all lipos with ease. Its well weighted for the lipo in the center.
