Just ran mine for the first time the other day, this car actually handles really good. I am using an SMC 4000 Red case Lipo with no issues and no grinding. Also the Orion 3200 fits but with the top mount plugs i prefer the SMC.
Racing TCS Rally event this coming weekend cant wait

Have any of you guys had any problems with breaking the two screw bosses off the chasses that the front upper deck slides over? The ones in front of the battery box. Are there any aftermarket braces or tricks you guys are using to strengthen up that area?

Do all of the DF-03RA variants come with an inner body shell? The most I've found is that the shell is just a Dark Impact body.

I'm getting conflicting information from the different models and Tamiya hasn't posted complete parts listings or manuals for any of them.

Okay, nevermind. I just caught up with the rest of the thread.

Got the link to the manual and also answered my question about the inner shell.

I just got a DF03RA and I have a few questions.

Are those rally cars any good on asphalt surface if I put semi-slicks on it?

I would like to try it at a TCS race here in Canada on asphalt in the rally class.

Also I read I can turn it into a buggy, what are the parts that I have to change
to make that transformation?

Best regards

Here's the link to the Dark Impact body (#0555108) if anyone cares http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/ite...uct-id=0555108

Nobody seems to have them in stock, but I think I may try to get the LHS to order it.

A year or so on, how is everyone's car holding up. I was (like most I think) concerned about the angle of the rear dogbones, but I don't see anyone posting about any problems. Anyone???

Any other gripes, likes, or any tips?

i noticed that the rear dogbones looked very funny when i built mine, but it seems like they work good.

Dark impact inner body has been out of stock for a while. Go to Tamiyausa and request email notification for when it arrives.

Default general setup?

Would someone be willing to offer up a general list of issues or upgrades to consider for this car - DF03 Ra?

Is this a new platform for Tamiya? Are they planning on a newer release soon?

Here's a specific question. Can you fit a Traxxas servo and motor and Velinion system in this car - effectively making it waterproof?

I'm looking to move into the 1/10 class, but I'd like to be able to have a car that can go on carpet and outdoor rough terrain. Of course, I realize that on carpet this car will require some tweaking, and obviously won't be competitive in a serious race, but the idea is to have a more versatile car.

Here in Colorado, there is some on road, but not nothing in the rally class.
