The issues I have is that I test fitted my Lipo batteries into a DF03 buggy and the tubes on the the Intellect battery don't sit where the holes in the chassis are. On the buggy it would be a complete no go because it is exactly where the body mounting posts are, but with the Rally, I'm thinking I could dremel out the holes bigger so I could fit the corally plug leads through to the battery. I would lose the option of fitting a buggy body as an inner cover though I presume.

Can anyone see any problems or issues?

Cheers
Although it sounds like you've already found a solution for yourself, I figured I'd mention other possible options. I'm using the 4000mah Maxamp pack they list for the DF03 chassis. It fits, but it doesn't fit in the "This was designed specifically for this chassis" kind of way. You can get it into the car and close the battery door without modifying anything. Don't get me wrong, it's by no means even remotely close to perfect but it does work.

Cheers, I think it can be done one way or the other Might just buy the car, then start playing. Where there is a will, there is a way

Default tamiya DF-03r

Thank you tamiya for releasing something that i buy!!

Has anyone got one of these as i tune/build tamiyas for fun and use on tarmac.

I have just ran out of bits to improve a TT01 (just if i want to make it into an E-Spec that i dont want to do) and i have been thinking of a new project.

Can i make the car sit lower to the ground as i find it helps with the center of gravity.

if so can any one email be the chassis pages of the instructions so i can make a start on deciding where the electronics go and what make of ESC i can go for and what upgrades i can get from my supplier.

My email address's are:

Your help will be appreciated.

Jamie,

If you go to Tamiya's USA site and search for Item #58417, you can download a PDF of the DF03RA manual.

Hope this helps...

Default Shock travel.

Does anyone know the length needed for aftermarket replacement shocks for the DF03RA?

I think any 50-55mm should be fine.

The kit shocks are the same as the "super mini"

Careful of too much ride height if you're using unis, they don't like the extreme angle.

I run a Team Orion 2 cell hard pack in mine, just like most li-po packs with banana plugs you will have to grind away the buggy body post mounts so you can plug right in. Very easy to do.

Did some maintainance last night, some of the gears are showing some wear.

5.5T is too much I guess, but it's alot of fun.

Are there any lipos that can fit without grinding the chassis?
