Spektrum used to make a module for the transmitter. I see them on ebay once in a while. I don't believe there is anything from Futaba that will do what your thinking of. KO makes modules for the Helios. The cost will probably not be a that different.

KO makes 2.4Gz modules for the helios. 901 and 903 I think the models. 901 is SS spread sprectrum and 903 is FH frequency hopping.

spectrum's module is old and limited to DSM (not DSM2 etc)
