Help id a chassis, please
 

I have a touring car chassis that would make a cool project but I cant find any info on it.

It seems to be a 1/10 scale touring car with dual motors. One motor runs the front diff and another runs the rear diff. Possibly a tamiya? I only say that because it has Tamiya stickers.

I want to thank everyone in advance for any info provided.

Kind of hard to ID something without a picture. I would think that kind of setup would only work if you can get the two motors to turn at the same speed, or the car won't work right at all.:tire:

That would be a tamiya ta03 kit.It came in either front motor or rear motor. kinda looks like a tao3 short version

ok, so it came either front wheel or rear wheel and someone assembled this one as 4 wheel.

So I assume people have done the dual motor thing to these in the past.

The the TA03 was available in several configurations. The front motored 4-wheel drive both standard and short wheelbases & the mid motored 4-wheel drive again available in both the standard and short wheelbase but the shortened wheelbase mid motor vehicle was widened slightly in the rear.:batman:
It was common for people to make dual motored vehicles because of Tamiya"s easily interchanged parts. Several magazines featured the conversion and the cars were very fast.:sneaky:
The car is for sure a collectible piece and a nice addition to any collection.:cool:

Yep thats a TA03 alright... Thats what I started with!

It been built wrong. It should only have the motor at one end and it should have a belt conecting the ends together on on side of the chassis near the top (over the battery). The should be some other bulkheads in the box... One for the front that has no engine mount (looks pointy) and the other for the rear with no engine mount. Having the motor at the back works best.

TA03 but some one most likely a drifter has done a dual motor conversion.....not odd but not somthing you see every day
