WOW! Not bad for somebody who's been talking retirement for more than 3 years now! Congrats to Masami!

I've already lost track of the number of World titles he has, anybody know how many Japanese National titles he has?

8mins with a 10turn I know drivers that struggle to make 5mins with a 12turn motor limit and newish 3300's although I think they are just a little throttle heavy one likes to jab the throttle all the time, doesn't know the meaning of smooth

It's about time they increased the run time in other countries though, especially for stock and 19turn, I'd much rather have one less qualifier and longer runs, even 6mins or 7.

Getting the runtime is all about a)Good betteries, b) Throttle control, and c) Proper gearing.

Heck, when I was competing hardcore back in '89-'91, I had no trouble making runtime with 1700mAh batteries and 10-Turn motors; even then, I usually had about a minute of runtime left in the cell.

There are big differences between then and now. First, the batteries abviously have a much greater capacity, and second, motor designs (particularly the newer magnets) are MUCH more efficient than those I was using back then.

I can see where they should have no problem making time, considering the caliber of drivers we are talking about here.

If you have problems getting 5 minutes out of a GP3300 and a 10t, then something is wrong with you! hehe. Like TurnNBurn, when I race in TC Japan with 1700's I had no trouble making the 5 minute races with a 10t. I think in my setup records from back then I was able to get 6 or 7 minutes out of them infact.

But it would be nice to have a longer race here. I tried to post something about this several months ago. Maybe even a year ago just to see what kind of responses I get back. Mainly making Stock Class longer. Of course alot didn't like it cuz they were worried about frying their stock motors. I think this was even with the suggestion of 6 minute races. I guess the only way you'll get to race an 8minute race is if you race 1/12th. Sucks but oh well. Maybe we can suggest it to Roar and have a vote on extended Stock times. If they won't do 8... then why not 6?

Anyhow, congrats to Masami!
