Default The Latest and Greatest ESC's

I've been busy this summer doing other things and as such I don't have much of an idea as to what is going on in the RC world.

I might be interested in changing out my Cyclone for something newer for the coming indoor season.

So, what are the latest and greatest speed controls? What kind of prices am I looking at?

Thanks
Josh

I'm kinda diffing the KO VFS2000 or any variation of it like the Hara ESC.

Has anyone ever heard of someone having a REAL problem with a VFS2000 that didn't cause the problem themselves?

I have had 2 Tamiya TRF2002 esc's which are the same as the VFS2000 esc's and one failed on the first run of the 414WV and the other blew up into the 2nd leg of my 3 leg finals. Had them both repaired but i am scared to use them now! Rick

Does anyone have some links they could post of these two speed controls? If so that would be great, I can't seem to find anything on the comp. 2 for one thing.

Thanks
Josh

To be honest there is absolutely no controller that will make your car faster than what it is with the Cyclone. Cyclone is a very good controller when it was introduced some five years ago, and it still is. During these last five years the things improved are the size and the user interface, nothing else in my opinion. I have both an original Cyclone and a Keyence zero extreme 2002 edition and they provide identical car feel, speed, ans runtime,.. you name it. However the Keyence is smaller and much easier to use. It's like having a slightly smaller cyclone with an in-built pit-wizard.

GM v12xc.

It probably is like the keyance as far as size, internal pit wizard and performance. When I replaced my Novak Cyclone I was looking for something good with US repair support.

In one years time I went through 4 cyclones. In 2 years time I still have my origional v12xc never having a problem, knock on wood. After doing the math and feeling like I could have had another speedo for the cost of 4 repair bills I decided to go with GM (the magic of repairs is they fall just outside of warranty). I heard bad things about LRP and not enough of Keyance at the time I had looked.

I used to be a hardcore Novak. My first new Speedo was the T-4 with no bec. I like Bob and felt that he was doing a good job with his Co. After my cyclones experience then my friends brushless motor experience as of late. I am a confirmed Novak avoider. If anything they are good as backup, where mine sits.

Its kinda funny my friend was excited about getting the Novak brusheless. He had a Hacker and thought maybe the Novak would be good in addition. I warned him a little but, also felt maybe things changed. Well he is fighting trying to get something fixed that was bad out of the box.

GMs size is round 1/3 of a cyclone.

Good luck ! ! !

I've been using a Twister for about a month or two now. No problems.

one of the greatest :GM v12xc

i would like to try the new LRP Quantum 2, it changes frequency on the fly, so you get a lil more efficiency and power.

I have a gt7, cyclone c2, lrp 7.1, and an older keyence, i like the c2 the best for mod, the gt7 best for stock, and the lrp i just dont like. Its too big and i shut it down in mod, the gt7 shuts dwn with low turn mod and sometimes in 4 cell racing if the battery goes to dead (dumped out). My keyence has a nasty habit of revering its settings, ( have to reset the servo reverse every time its turned on) I am looking to try the new quantom.
