Default Tub Chassis Material

Is it the same material as the TA04-R Tub Chassis or your standard plastic?

Supersonic, Not sure about a 54 in 48p, but the F201 has a 52p, in the tamiya metric pitch. see if you can work with that. The biggest pinion I know of in the Tamiya pitch is 27.
Izzy, the whole car is out of a plastic, it seems different than regular plastic, but I guess it is the same as the gearboxes on the EVO3S. It cuts differently than regular plastic, but not as hard as the hard arms.

Izzyracer, the car is made out ABS plastic, it tells u this on the tamiya usa site if u want to check out some info on the car.
tamiyarcracer i was thought there might be a 28t pinion, Is the 27t pinion only in tamiya brand or is it in the other brands
Thanks

I know that for the metric .04 or .06 (which ever is the course gears) module as tamiya calls it, tamiya has a 27, but no 26 then the have 25 and down, THe 26 I use is a HPI pinion, and I heard rumors years ago that Kyosho had a 27 mut I have never found it.
As for the plastic issue, it might say abs, but it is a different mix than other abs plastic parts I've worked with.

TB02 Gear mesh

Hello All,

recently finished my 02 and noticed the car is very noisy compared to my EVO3....

So is this a function of 48 vs. 64 pitch gears or the plastic chassis acting as a drum?

anyone else running into the same situation?

thanks,

JC

Does anyone know if the tub is available for sale yet? Also is the battery hold down bar available as well?

Larry, I'm not sure if Tamiya America has them yet. But they should soon.

I notice mine was a tad noisy, but I figure it is the gear mesh was a tad off, seeing as I'm running a 52t from a F201 speed tuned gear set, and tring to get the 27 tooth to best fit, with the included holes.

Troy?

I'm running the stardard Tamiya spur & pinion which equates to a 6.85...but the beast is WAY loud.

(even louder than my Cuda with the stock Xenon spur)

Have you tried to run the EVO3 adaptor yet? I was giving it some thought, but not with 64 pitch gears....thinking the chassis has too much flex for that gear mesh.

BTW the blue convertion looks good on your car. I canibalized my EVO for GT2 since it appears that the 415 might be the weapon of choice in GT1 this year.

Yes sir You guessed tha name correctly. I am very pleased with the car.The noise on mine is getting quieter, maybe as the gears mate to each other.
So I'm guessing you thinking hard about GT1 this year?
