One of the locals here runs his TB-02 in stock for about 6 weeks before our regional race instead of his 415....and he is darn stout with it. Make sure you invest in things like a front one-way and a set of suspension mounts, along with the spring and swaybar sets too and you'll at least be in the ballpark.

Thans in advance
Go for the 28 tooth pinion 0.6 module. Kawada model co makes one that suits you can get it from rainbowten.

I currently run it with the tamiya silver can motor in novice class and am getting lap times similar to the guys that run stock class 27t motors.

I also have the 49t spur gear and 31 tooth pinion that I will install shortly !

I'm using a Matrix V10tt Stock motor with Reedy 767 brushes. I'm running a 7.1 final ratio. I think it's currently a 21 pinion to a 55 or 58 spur.

Honestly the only thing that I think really helps is the alloy shocks, and CV swing shafts, the rest is fluff. I qualified 4th in GT2 and should have won, and thats all I have, and the guy that did win doesn't even have swing shafts. Of course the regular TB02 hopups help like the alloy motor mount and such.

Default TB-02 Carbon Upper Deck

Has any one tried the following part, if so did it make much difference, or is it pretty much dead weight ?

its not TCS legal. so a majority of the US drivers havent tried it. plus the TB-02R is out now.. all though the jury is still out with how much stiffer that car is.

Speedtechrc sells them for 19.99 but they are out of stock right now. You can also try Rainbowten.com

Default Gears

Can someone please tell me the positives and negatives of running larger pinion or smaller spur to achieve the same gear ratio? I'm trying to gear for a tight technical track and am trying to figure out which combo to use to achieve best results.

The larger the spur the more" leverage " your motor will have on the transmission. If you are on a tight track I would use the largest spur possible. LOL I have raced a XXXSG+ for the past 2 years and no matter which track I ran on I always used the largest spur possible. In off-road it will make more difference having the motor pushed back or in closer to the chassis as far as hadling goes. Good Luck
