I can get my TB-02 to 4.83
You need to get RW Racing .6 pinions or TOBEE CRAFT .6(I use the RW Racing have not tried the Tobee craft pinion but they both make 28 T pinions)
I don't know were online you can buy RW but Rainbow Ten sells the Tobee Craft.
Hopefully Tamiya will release an adjustable mount as the carbon rear deck looks as if you can get to the top screw easily and check the gear mesh.

Yes, the 52t spur with 27t pinion gets you down to 5.04.
This is the gearing we were running at the Tamiya Eurofinals with the TZ motor.

Was that allowed?

Being that the 52 spur is hop-up intended for the F201 chassis and not the TB-02.

PizzaBOMB

We didn't use it at the race itself (maybe the Swiss did ) because it wasn't allowed. You know aswell as i do that i ran an TA04 because at that track it was WAY faster then an TB02.

While they don't say it anymore because it's a given, the rules used to state that any manufacturer's pinion and spur were allowed. This would include the 52T F201 gear. This is the US TCS at least.

I understand the rules in the US are "run what you brung".

Here in Europe we do it a bit differently. Our classes are open only to certain cars and all parts and hop-ups must be from Tamiya and for the model specified. Even with rules like these (easy teching) there are still people that try to bend the rules. Thats why more than half the Swiss team this year was disqwalified
As if the tech guys (who did a good job!) wouldn't see twisted armatures and illegaly timed stock motors

i was gonna say.. i thought the only cars that were limited in the gearing were the F201 and Mini class here.

Default MAJoR UNDERSTEER!

Guys,

I am new to this. I have 2x TB02 and we race for fun on an indoor skate track. I am haveing major understeer issues. Full speed down the track and at full lock I can't make it around the track.

Would you have any ideas on how to fix this, i'm running a epic rebuildable stock and sorax 26 on all 4's, the surface is very slippery, but not being able to turn taht much is just a joke. It's like it's not gripping or pushing to much, i have a little tow in on the front as well.

At the North American Nats 2004, the TB02 posted the fastest lap times(props to Kevin!!!) ; but the TA04 proved to be more consistent... So it's really a toss up. In all honesty, if I am still allowed to run this year... I'll be banging my head on the wall already... the decision is just THAT hard! (But deep inside I know I'll still use the 04... )

If you have access to springs, put the softest you have up front and see what happens. If the car still understeers, adjust the wheelbase to it's shortest setting... this is the best option I find with the TB02: Adjustable wheelbase!

We also use a skating ring as our track. The solution is to either use TRC Red foams (or something like it) or if you need to stay with rubber tires, go for the Tamiya M2 Radial tire.
