One of my new TCS buds is trying to get me to goto a TCS race. I am thinking of running in the 19T sedan class and the 27T class.

For the 27T class I want to convert my EVOIII into a TB02. What parts do I need to make this possible? I don't want to buy a new kit. Part ##s would be very helpful.

I am guessing chassis and motorplate?

It can be done pretty easily. You need the tub, the M or N parts tree, the steering bell cranks, a 5x9 or 5x10 bearing (just one_ and the motor mount plate. I would also suggest getting the chassis stiffener too. I'll get you P/N's in a little bit and PM you

Red face TB-02R

As promised, here's the pic of the TB-02R on display at the Tamiya World Championships in Japan. Weird! I think I'm the only one who actually took a pic of it. Seems that nobody's interested to say the least...

Wink

But then, I do think this chassis is the car to have next season... I'm sure somebody will find a way to make it faster than the 04s.

Here's the rear part... what's that I see? Plastic motor mount? Expect to spend another $100 or so hopping this one up to it's full potential...

i recently learn that the TB02 motor mount can only allow fixed gearing... .... that's not good...

is there any after market motor mount that allow any gearing?

Default TB-02 R

Is the tub still the standard plastic?
It seems to be getting close to a very good race car, LW suspension, TRF shocks and the carbon parts.
It looks like there is room for an adjustable motor
That the only thing i dislike about my TB is the lack of open gearing.

I have tried checking the gear mesh for .4 Pinions and spurs, the TB EVO 2 72-teeth spur fits in and the pinions range from 43-49.
I have not run it with these combos but you have to check the clearence for your own liking.

Thanks

Post upper plate

Ian,

I agree...sadly it does not apear to be much stiffer than the OEM part.

Let hope the TB02R uses some chassis material similar to the TA04R...

(you have a PM)

Will I be able to just by the new TB-02 R chassis and graphite braces and put then onto my already tricked out TB-02 TCS Warrior? I like the new graphite bracing but I hate to buy a new car as my TB-02 is pretty tricked and already works great when I run TCS races. I have had the car for a year and ran our two local TCS races and TQ'ed and won GT2 both times so I have no need to buy a totally new car.

No problem. The only thing I didn't send you was the P/N for the tub itself. I know it's somewhere in the thread though
