Wow, you made me think so I counted them. Currently 17 complete car kits and 8 collectible bodies NIB
All I can say is...that's cool! Maybe you will have time to send me a list.
Ian A. our TAOB member president is a crazy collector too. I have not really seen his stuff but it would be fun to see who's got what!

I have a Top Force. The only thing I can consider a collector's item in my possession.

What, is Derek involved in this thread? ROFL. No, I like to argue, just ask Fred, my wife, the guys I race with, and pretty well anyone who has spent 5 minutes talking with me. I'm a very literal person. I'm also very passionate in my opinions as well. There are very few things that could piss me off when we're dealing with Toy cars for Bowling trophies

[i]And again, with the 414 and the Evo, can't you shimm the arms forward to accomplish the same thing? [/B]
You can? I was looking at my TB-02 with the SS arms and It looks like if I shim it all the way apart , I can come close if not the same to the standard measurements.

But hear is the catch. You have to use the body that is designed for the SS arms and that means only the Audi and MRS body. There is your disadvantage if you can call it that.
Do you think Tamiya will allow you to use a short wheel base body just because you got the standard arms close enough to the SS measurements and vise versa? Now, I think that is Illegal! hhhhmmmm!

I believe you can on the Evo and the 414, but I don't own either car so I am going off what I think I have seen on other cars. I am next to possitive that you can though. I see this as much more legal then the SS arms, as you are using parts designed for the car. Besides, IF I were running an Evo, just as an example, I would rather run that being slightly longer then the SS arms, and here's why. You could run a body other then the MRS or the Audi. Here's another thing. There were short bodies for the 03S and RS, why aren't those legal for the 04SS?

Those old short bodies are probably allowed. Nobody just thought of using them...you know, people might look at them It's kind of impractical in this day of aerodynamics.

I think gary might be referring to the adjustable wheelbase on the E3 and 414. Small shims on the lower arm hingepins allow you to adjust the wheelbase slightly.
As for the short bodies. The 04SS is different than the Ta02SW or the Ta03s. I have both and they were basically designed around the use of the Porsche 911 bodies. A very short wheelbase body and also quite wide in the back. Different width tires/rims were used front and back. At there present value, not to many people would actually run those bodies.

I dunno, there was a Porsche that is pretty racey looking. It looks a lot like the Porsche that was for the F103 LeMans cars. Very curvy nose, low rooflines. If it were legal, I would at least like to try one.

Now see Gary, we need to have our facts straight before blabbing our fingers

Thanks Evoracer for clearing those up. Yah, I know what Gary was referring too. and like you said we both have good points. I just think mine has more good than him

Anyway, unfortunately. I'm not as passionate as Gary with this type of discussions. I actually had enough until Evoracer butt-in (joke).
But it was a fun one so now I have to concentrate on winning the TCS champs in 2010.

Hi guys, may I add a few comments. I think that Izzy wants the short wheelbase is because his team TAOB is famous for their short MRS's at the Tamiya Track.

I say let them run it because a shorter wheelbase will make the car very twitchy. If they can figure it out and control it and be in contention, more power to them.

I don't see how this could be a performance gain unless your on like a tiny 1/12 track. hehe

BTW, Happy Holiday's everybody!

Evo, this was the one I was thinking of:

http://www.tamiyausa.com/pdf/58193.pdf

Rod, my SS has more rear grip then my 04R does. I think the short wheelbase, at least with my setup on it, has more rear grip and is more stable then the longer car. I was fighting the rear end all week last year with the standard car, but kept looking for more steering with the SS this year. Plus, I think it's an awesome configuration for carpet too.

As far as who has the better arguement, I think in the long run there needs to be an addendum to the rules to directly reflect this. I'll admit if I saw someone at a TCS event with the SS arms on a chassis other then an 04 the way the rules are written now, I would have to protest it.

Biggest problem is Tamiya has a new car every week and they will never be able to keep up by changing their header cards to cover all cars. They almost need rules for each kind of car to cover each class. Need rules for 03's 04' 02's and the others I missed.
