(spur teeth/pinion teeth)*2.6=FDR of the TB02

I recently discovered myself that it is indeed an adapter for standard spur gears. I don't know how big a 64 pitch gear you can fit, but you can fit them.

hey guys I have a stock TB02 and I want to run on my local track in the stock class. A lot of people have Xrays, Serpent, Cyclones, Ta05s. My question is can I compete with this chassis or I have a big disatvantage?????

As long as you've got the right gear and setup, and you're an OK driver, it can still hang on with most modern touring cars. The TB's heavier (about 100g or so) than the carbon double-deck cars, and only marginally heavier than the TA05 and have annoyingly limited gearing range (something TA05 owners don't have to deal with), but otherwise it's alright. There's no reason not to try racing it (you can do a lot worse than racing a TB-02...), but I wouldn't pump so much money into TB-02 specific upgrade parts, since it is essentially a 6-year old design by now

I just picked up 3 Tamiya TB-02's (58317 Mercedes) off ebay for $220 shipped. One for me, one for my 10 y/o daughter and even decided to get the wife one. I figured for roughly $73 each I couldn't go wrong for brand new cars. Especially with bearings, shaft drive and oil shocks.

Anyway I'm a Mitsubishi fanatic so I'll be painting up an Evo 6 body for mine, my daughter likes the SX4 and I'm torn between the Evo 7 or Suby body for my wifes car. I am wanting to convert all of them to rally cars and build a track in our backyard which also conveniently has a hill.

I know that I can lift them up a little and get rally block tires from either Tamiya or HPI but how should I build the shocks and with what weight oil? Any other tips for this conversion? What ride height am I looking for Rallying? We will all be keeping the stock motors and this will be a very low budget deal. Just wanted something fun to do with the family. I've been out of RC cars for probably 10 years or more and they have never even driven an RC car.

Is there any way to get the gearing to match the 4.20 fdr for VTA racing with this chassis?

I've been wondering the same thing, however since I've been using my old 415 msxx for T/A I havent really tried.

I do have the YEAH racing motor mount on mine, which allows for some additional adjustment. I'll pull it out this week and see if I can get something to work.

How about this spool? Is it new? I can't tell from the pic if the outdrives are both aluminum or if one is plastic.

TB-02 Spool on eBay

The only website I can find for Tech Racing is all in Japanese, so if anyone here can read it for info on this spool that would be very helpful.

I am confident that the short TRF suspension will fit.
You will need to change the length of your Swing Arms.
I had a TB-02 with standard TRF suspension and the only difference is the slightly shorter arm length, so I can not see a problem.
