I'll be concentrating for the Final F1RL race. But I will have my TB02 SS ready at TA.

I'm still trying to find the time to build mine... Maybe I'll just build it at the track on Sat.

Can any one tell me the part number of 52t spur gear.
Is the spur gear adaptor in the kit, the same as the evo3 just plastic.
Thanks

Default 52t gear

Supersonic. The part # for the 52t gear, 53552. It is in the speed tuned gear set for the F1, and it has an adapter built on to it.

Supersonic, yes it is a plastic gear adapter, like the one in an EVO. To use aftermarket gears.

Tested again today with the new Epic stock motor. Even geared at 7.94 at TA the motor was still cooking That being said, over all performance at the top of the rev range was very impressive!

As for the car...not so good today. The changes made to the suspension and diff made it a handfull to drive...very loose off power. Time ot go back to a stiffer set-up.

Enjoy the holidays,

JC

I also had a chance to do testing today at TA. The car was set up with a short wheel base using the arms for the TA04-SS. I had a total of 4 runs and all I can say was WOOOOOW! The car was hooked from the start and had a very nice feel around the turns. Very fast coming out of it. I had a sport tuned Tamiya motor (Black can and I was keeping up with the stock motors easily and was even beating some of them). I did not have a chance to run with John C since I was concentrating on the F1RL race that I was also part of and John left early. Anyway I did run with my buddy Kevin who had a pretty much tricked out TA04 with the same Sport Tuned Motor and we were toe to toe inside and I had more power on the straight but that could be because of the gearing. Mark Dawson also had a chance to run my car and he was happy to say the least. I can't wait to make the car better and run GT2 or GT3. Wooohoo!

Default Gearing

i need to get a lowerer gearing, i'm currently running the 55tooth spur and 25 pinnion the car is awsome in the infield but i get smashed down the straight. We using the silver can 540 motor or maybe you guys out there know some tricks on how to get the most rpm out of these sealed cans motors.

has any one made a modified motor mount or worked out a way to get a bigger pinion in the car

Madjack, Izzyracer, Hebiki...

Glad you guys are finding time to test the "new" TB car at TA... and all your inputs so far are very interesting... For some odd reason, mine is still shelved somewhere in Japan waiting to be shipped... hehehe... just kidding...

TCS in Cali is still a long way down the road so I'll probably hold my purchase 'till March... Good luck with everyone's tests with this car... by the time I build mine, at least I know I'm not lost in setups... Izzy, Madjack, take it easy with me, I'm like MJ coming back after a "short" retirement... I hate to get my "behind" spanked... hehehe!

buy the speed tuned gear set for the F201, use that spur and purchase a Tamiya 27 tooth pinion. That will get you to a 5.0 final drive ratio...which should work well with a silver cvan 540
