Does anyone know a good starting point for the monster stock motor for the TB02R? I'm looking to run it in the TCS races.

Try 20/58. I run on a 40m by 25 track and its a good start.

well, FINALLY got to use my O2R....I set it up to its manual specs and ran it. wasnt sure on gearing though, so I used 58/22 to start. It runs as good as my evo3....but it kept spinning out on me turning left too much. So I check out the suspension settings using a board/setup stands...DANG! kit specs run something like 8deg camber up front and 6 out back with about 5deg toe out!!GGGEEEZZZZ. set it to 2deg front/rear and zero toe...much better but a screw came out of the steering arms. and couldnt continue.

Funny thing...it took me about a year to get the evo3 to handle that good.

You cant use it. Unless you dremel the motor mount on your tbo2r so you can find a pinion/spur combination.

set up for asphalt
as a base I use:
yellow springs

30 wt shock oil

yellow anti sway bars. you can tune turn in buy going to harder rear or softer front. or reverse depending upon how the car is cornering.

use standard droop. off power steering can be adjusted by increasing rear droop, on power grip by increaseing front droop.

raise the front top suspension link about 5 mils 1/4 inch from stock.

Tire choice yours, whatever everyone is using at your track. TCS is b3's.

In order the use the Evo motor mount and gears, you'll probably have to go the the Graphite plate lower chasis and covert to an evo.

hope this helps

i have a question about the TB02 kits. do they(normal tb02 sets) all come with the same hopups? i was looking on the tamiya site and it didn't mention ball bearings in the 2003 impreza wrc model, but they do in the 2004. does that mean the 2003 impreza doesn't come with ball bearings, or did they just not mention them? thanks.
Also, is there anything i should know about the tb02 chassis? anything fickle about it or might need to stock up on some parts that brake easily?

I believe all the kits come with full ball bearings

The only parts I have broken on my car was the diff bolt, that was using a 10turn motor and tightened up fairly tight.

The car is almost bulletproof

So i now have the tb-02, only problem is that I dont know how much camber or toe im actually getting, and i can't tell if its even on both sides. i ran the car for the first time today and the camber on the front left is set abit more negatively than the right, and i think i fixed that, but is there a way to know for sure by using stuff like a ruler or jazz like that? thanks.
