Default trans am racing in cincinnati

is there going to be any interest in running Trans am racing at tristate. I have heard a few people mention it, and I think a 21.5 lipo class or a 17.5 four cell would be awesome.

While not quite the same, the Vintage class at the HPI Challenge was a blast. I will say however there are only so many TC racers in the area and I've seen the following classes proposed:

- Vintage TA
- 17.5 Rubber
- 13.5 Rubber
- 17.5 Foam
- 13.5 Foam
- 10.5 Foam

Suggest we pick at most 2 to run (one foam and one rubber tire). Its a lot more fun to run in a class with a B and C main then it is to run with 3 or 4 people. There are about 20 regular rubber tire racers from THS. If there is a class inviting for them then perhaps we can really build things up at Tri-State.

Might be worth Tri-State holding a "drivers/rules meeting" before racing starts to hammer some things out. Seems to work well for THS. Let's everyone have a say and get on the same page. They layout a calendar for big races, etc at the same time.

it sounds good, I would really like to push for this class to get a following. I think it is a great way to draw in old racers and new racers. It is working in other areas for a reason.

I dunno how often I would get down there but I would like to run TA. I don't know if you guys run World GT down there either, but that seems to be another class that is taking off well up in Dayton. I would like to try and get tdown there and run a few times this winter.

this is what I am looking for I am going to build my old tc4 into the transam car, and just have it ready for whenever. I really think the cars look cool and the slower speeds are going to entice alot of new racers.

World GT/GT10 is the 4 cell 200mm class where Pro 10 is 6cell 235mm mod motor.

I thought I saw Eli mention being interested in Pro10. So we have

Vintage TA
1/10 17.5 Rubber
1/10 13.5 Rubber
1/10 17.5 Foam
1/10 13.5 Foam
1/10 10.5 Foam
1/12 17.5
1/12 13.5
World GT
Pro10

10 classes, yep! looks like everyone gets a trophy and their own class

My suggestion would be:

One Rubber tire TC Class
One Foam tire TC Class
One 1/12 Class
One of the following Pro10, World GT, Vintage TA

My 2 cents.

Pro10/World GT will all be 200mm this winter. A lot of poeple just use the term loosely.

I agree Tim. Too many classes will be not much fun. You guys should move this discussion over to the Tri-State thread.

I would rob, but I have mentioned it on there and there is more traffic on this part of the forum, especially trans am action. So we will continue the discussion here and see if there is enough interest to pursue the class. I am not wanting to discuss which classes to run, just specifically if there is enough interest in this class.

Lets try to stay on target to the title of the thread. If you are interested in the trans am class and think you can make it at least twice a month, post here so we can kinda get a head count.

Thanks,

We have been getting on average 6-8 VTA cars at Indy Slots on Friday nights for the last 2 months. The track is located on the south side of Indianapolis about 1 mile off of I-465. It is a short drive to Cincy for most of those who race.

Personally I have gone to Chicago 3 times already this summer so I could race my car on a bigger track. I know of a few racers that would be willling to travel once a month to other tracks, and Cincy is much closer than Ft. Wayne (Summit Raceway) for me.

Run the class by the USVTA rules, and I'm sure that you can get a few guys from Indy to come over there to race once a month.

we would run it by the clas rules for sure. We wouldn't exlude someone on there first outing for a small change, but yes the rules do make the class.

Tristate is a really nice place to race on sundays

Keep me posted. My inlaws live in Hamilton so I might be up sometime when I could race.
