with vta, keep it simple.

17.5 / rubber for the newb's, 13.5 or 10.5 and foam for those who like truing and adjusting droop etc...

We are open to anything in the VTA rules, we want to run the class under VTA rules. I just wanted guys to know we would work with them a bit for the first few weeks. I am a big fan of brushless/lipo that is why I listed 21.5 in my post. But we are running the VTA Rules, if a guy showed up without numbers or a slightly off body he could still run, but would be asked to get that corrected within the first few weeks.

The Vintage Trans AM rules are what is making this class. This class is popular at just about all of the carpet tracks in the midwest.

Maybe what might work best to build up interest is to get a date once a month that everybody -locals and travelers- can be at the track. That way it's worth everyone's while to run, and you'll have a good car count. 10 cars on the track is way more fun than 3 in VTA

Personally I have gone to Chicago 3 times already this summer so I could race my car on a bigger track. I know of a few racers that would be willling to travel once a month to other tracks, and Cincy is much closer than Ft. Wayne (Summit Raceway) for me.

Run the class by the USVTA rules, and I'm sure that you can get a few guys from Indy to come over there to race once a month.

What they said ^^^

The amount of guys we are getting to race at Indy Slots is climbing. Last Friday we had 12, and that's only because a couple guys were out of town.

I'd certainly carpool down to Cincinnati and race VTA. And probably with the two knuckleheads I quoted .

Sounds great guys, if you guys want to venture over on sunday 11/2/08 to race, I will bring at least myself to the indy track the following week for friday night racing. It is well worth it to makt the drive, the track is awesome, great traction and great people. Let me know if you guys are coming and I will see if I can get a discounted race fee to kick off the class or somthing. By the way Tri-state is a Paragon Track.

Indy Slots is a nice facility...I ran the State Micro race last winter. it's a little bit smaller than TriState but fun. BUT don't pit by the Slot car track in the front of the store....those little things hurt like all heck when they hit you in the back of the head.....VTA would be great there

Hey, Mike. Matt, Jamie and I had a blast running against the VTA cars on Wednesday. Matt has started working on converting his TC4 to VTA specs. He's already bought the tires/wheels and he's working on getting a body ready this weekend. Jamie also seems like he's hooked and he's got a spare TC4 as well. We might be able to make VTA a regular Wednesday night class!! See ya next week!!
