That is strange as I race a CR and used our 5000/28C and our 5200/24C this past weekend with a small piece of foam in the rear bulkhead. You will need to dremel a bit of the front brace that goes over the servo to make the pack fit as that brace sticks out over the battery channel. You then flip the battery strap over and it fits.

We have packs in stock and we have been filling out orders/backorders. Local shops and tracks can order them from Horizon or Great Planes. The online retailers who stock our packs should have them in stock.

i did take the servo brace off and the block out and it drops in that way, but even with the bolts off the brace and the strap on, its bowed and there is stress on the battery and on the strap, potentially the whole structure. so i returned it, again i'm still pissed bout my 4100 disappearing, that battery was mint in the car. guess another 65bux, time for overtime.

That is strange as I didn't notice this in my CR. I also dremeled a a bit if the battery brace where the wires come out.

yes i did a very minor 'massage' to the bar for the wiring. looked very proper in fact. i'm hoping i left mine at the job i hit once/wk. if not, then i'm gonna order another 1 b/c that was 1 damn good battery, moreso at 65bux compared to whats out there.

For the T4 you will be fine.

For the Yokomo I think it should be o.k. but I'm not 100% sure. The packs are 24.5 x 46.5 x 136.

Thumbs up

Hi Danny

What's the best way to treat the Lipo after a raceday. Should I fully recharge the pack and let it sit till the next race or leave it alone and charge it on race day. My 5200 only uses about 3600mah when I run in mod.

Thanks

Hi Danny

Touch and go but do-able I think.
ill have to remove 1x top deck standoff ( not used on asphalt anyways ) get taller battery posts and remove the plastic battery tray. Other than that seems ok

cheers

people should pay more attention to this pack and what it provides at its pricepoint. more than enuff for club racing w/o breakin the bank.

IMHO, these packs, specifically the 5200 is the best bang for the buck in R/C right now. I would think SMC could not deliver enough of them....

ok thanks danny.

Lipos shouldn't be stored with full charge as it will reduce capacity.

Check the voltage of the pack after the your run to prior to charging it. If it's 7.60 v or lower it will be ready for storage.

Here is the section on storage charge on our second generation charging/care instructions that will be inlcuded when we get our newest shipment of packs.

Storage:

LiPo packs have a very slow self discharge rate. This means they can be stored for long periods of time. The goal is to keep the cells above 3V to keep them from getting damaged. The standard has been 50% storage charge. This means a 7.4V (2 cells) pack should be stored at 7.6 volts. In some of our testing we have noticed that keeping the packs stored with more than 50% charge will reduce some of the packs capacity permanently. Serious car racers want their packs capacity to stay as high as possible. Our testing has revealed that storing them at 6.6 volts for a 2 cell pack will keep the capacity as high as possible.

If the pack is kept in storage for a long term (3 months or more), it is strongly recommended that the pack be preserved in a dry and low temperature atmosphere. For a pack stored at 6.6 volts we recommend you check the packs voltage every 2 months. If the voltage has dropped, charge it back up to 6.6 volts.
