We are having great sucsess with our 17.5 lipo class. we have around 17 or so kits all CRC in the last month or so and it seems to be going well. we added the OGT "Outlaw GT" as a promoter option at our regionals coming up next month. will be curious to see how the entries pan out between WGT 13.5 4 cell and the 17.5 lipo class.

Stay Tuned

A certain very talented 13.5/4-cell driver beat all the 17.5/lipo drivers (including me) by a goodly margin at NorCal Hobbies last Sunday. In the process, he set a fast lap for the carpet track in its current configuration and condition. I have no problem running head-to-head against him because he continually beats us by driving great tight lines.

Considering the drop in entries of the WGT 13.5/4-cell powered cars in our area, one consolidated race group can work fine for now. May the fastest car/driver combo win!

I noticed that sponsored drivers (full ride) ran the cars at the big races and left them sit during club races. I don't think they enjoy the class all that much. I look forward to this summer and running outside with them...we had 4-8 every weekend ...It's my main class this year...

This is the most sensible thing I've seen for Pro 10 cars in a long time. Also not using phony bodies like the Sophia is another plus you'll have going for this class. VTA has proven this formula for racing is a great way to success. Good Luck.

I picked up one of the Sophia bodies as it was legal for WGT, but I always have and always will have a soft spot for the detail of the HPI bodies.

Having tested 2400/3600/3800/4800/5000 packs in my 17.5 powered Gen-X 10, I can truly say that the 2400 was disappointing. There was too much voltage drop off by the end of a 6 minute run with that small capacity pack. Good luck with that...

Bill ;
You didn't try a 13.5 with the single cell? I've been running that for the last few months at our series. Still trying to get it right.So far I'm at 44x88 with 2.25 tires. I just cranked the timing up(all they way) but it will be afew weeks before I can go test at the local track (March7th).
Everyone else runs a 13.5 with4 cells.

I think that everyone is waiting for the Novak Smart Boost module before testing.

Figured that is would take a 10.5 motor with the single cell to be competitive with 13.5/4-cell and 17.5/2-cell lipo.

Carpet season is almost done here. Next testing is outdoor setups for me.

I do hope to see WGT at least stabilize at the club level. Its sad to see entries dropping in CA and entires not existing in FL possibly over the LiPo vs. NiMH debate (if Im far afield with that thought feel free to correct me)
