I have a Losi Alpha body and its pretty thin, so when it takes a small crash, the wing gets destroyed. I have a Protoform Nissan and really don't like it. I thoought of just pulling the wing off and using it on the Alpha to experiment. Anyone else have any experience with something similar, and is it really a big deal?

that's an alternative.....
you probably won't loose performance....

then i suggest you to try a new one, like Protoform DOdge Stratus....other bodies work great, like Chrysler 300M and the new Mazda 6.....but I prefer the Dodge Stratus...

The wings do make a difference - if you take the wing off the car, you certainly notice a difference (back end has less grip). The protoform wing is a bit smaller than the Losi one (depending on how you have it trimmed), so you may notice a little less rear grip.

Well the Nissan sentra wing is much different than the Alpha wing; both form protoform, but is it noticeable?

I believe so. But try it, it's the only way to find out if it's better, worse or the same.

I mounted the Losi Lexus wing on a Losi Alpha. It was horrible. When I ran the Lexus I hated it and tossed it but kept the wing. Tried the wing on the Alpha and it gave a very similar feeling it did on the Lexus. It seemed very loose in the rear end. Especially at high speed. It almost seemed like the raise in the center section was causing the rear to lift instead of planting it.

I think it does matter what kind of wing you use for different kind of track. Even the way how to mount the body affects the handling in addition to car setup. Depends on how much down force back and front you want to compensate the car handling.
I can feel the difference especially when running at high speed track with a lesser drag/lesser downforce the car could go extra fast.
Chevron Models make a few type of rear wings to suit your track condition.

www.speedtechrc.com is the only distributor in the US. I've run the Chevron Models Super car (Bugatti) It's awesome. Super stable and very fast feeling. They look awesome on the track too. But they're not leagal and some parking lot races even get their panties in a buch if you try and run one.
