Thumbs up PPD TC setup plates. TC5, Mi3, Xray, Cyclone and ??

After completing the first round of Mi3 setup plates that got great reviews at the IIC, we have just finished the requested TC5 plate and they're ready to ship.

We are starting with the more susceptable 2.0mm chassis models as they tend to tweak much easier. In the case of the Mi3 and TC5 the plate works equally as well on the 2.5mm chassis. I thought my 2.5mm chassis was pretty close prior to inspecting on a dead flat surface, but found about .015 in. twist that changed the droop just over .5mm at arm.

The plates can also be used to inspect for tweak, accurate and fast droop adjustments, safe bench testing, working on car, dead flat storeage with no load on suspension...ect.

We can also use this thread to gage other susceptable chassis that people may be interested in a tweak / setup plate for.

A guy by the name of Art from Florida makes chassis plates like these he made them for the whole Xray team about two years ago so maybe you can give him some credit for the idea...Later Drew

How did I know you would follow me to this thread? Yes, they made a tweak plate that we did not have to buy or measure to build! You can defend EA copying our base plate all you want, they are what they are.

Our setup plate has nothing in common with the IRP except they both remove tweak from the pic I saw. It uses clamps not bolts, checks droop, is faster to load, considerably less cost, can vertical mount...ect.

Take your lame shots elsewhere.

If you made a Cyclone one I would certantly be interested. I saw your MI3 one this weekend and it looked top notch. I own one of your lipo base plates and it is also great.

1) Loosen the TC's bulkhead screws and top deck screws and drop onto plate.

2) Tighten down the 5 supplied clamps to flatten chassis.

3) Tighten down the bulheads from bottom of plate thru the clearance holes in plate.

4) Tighten top deck.

5) Unclamp...your done!

It will remove tweak caused from movement during assembly (tightening), and tweak from chassis / bulheads shifting on impact.

It will not fix bent bulheads, or badly warped chassis.

Thumbs down

I think every company that releases a new touring car or off road buggy should give credit to Tamiya every time a new car is released, because they were the first to do something like that.
