Default 2009 ROAR major rules change?

A copy from the Electric Offroad thread:

"As stated in the rules.. Super Stock in 2009 will be 13.5 Brushless only.

But.... the 2009 rules will NOT be finalized and posted until after the fall meeting of the Executive Committee.

We are working on a skill based system rather than a motor wind based system... so things might change significantly anyway. Please be patient... the meeting is in November and the rules will be updated with plenty of time for people to make a conversion in equipment if necessary (which, hopefully won't be.. all equipment should be fine...) and in understanding process.

Even the Castle Motor sponsored drivers who insist I have bad information will be happy....

Dawn Sanchez"

Could possibly be for offroad only, but no further explanation was given, so being a ROAR member, I think public comment should be welcome on this subject.

Keep it civil please.

If not based on winds then are we possibly looking at everything being open mod? I guess that would work in off-road where there is only so much traction to feed a motor but doesn't seem like it would work in on-road.

Hey that is like that now for every type of racing. Onroad and dirt oval are not any better.

NOTHING.. I repeat NOTHING will happen without the faithful keyboard jockeys of RC Tech knowing... I promise you!!

If you want to contribute your thoughts... seriously, get involved at your regional level or class committee level.

I think the only reasonable answer is to just send everyone a trophy when they send their entry form in. Don't actually hold the races. No complaining about rules, poor facilities, the expense of TC, the unfairness of TC, "pro" drivers in stock, rubber vs foam, lipo potential causing a nuclear reaction. Everyone wins and everyone is happy.

We had a civil discussion about Brushless motor additions to stock and super stock in the ROAR rules for 08 and Dawn did spend a lot of time with us.
I was hoping to get the same style of discussions going again about how the classes would be changed.
ROAR is a member driven organization, and ROAR members should participate in a restructuring of the classes from motor size to driver ability.
