Questions?? ROAR Rules on LIPO Label?

Yes i searched

Does anybody know if ROAR requires the manufacturers label to be clearly seen on the lipo pack for a ROAR sanctioned race? For example the Orion lipo packs, what if the sticker peeled off, is this legal?

yes the labels are required on the packs produced after 2-08, BUT most places realize that stickers will come off after a while so you should be good.I know a couple of mine have already come off that were bought less than 2 months ago and I have had no issues in tech. with them.

they care that u didnt spend uber cash for a label, they must take care of companies like orion and thus makin rules to ensure that orion can ass-rape you on lipos that they get from korea. not you buyin direct at cut-rate.

ROAR tech crew passed my Orion 3600 packs without labels at the Carpet Nats in Omaha. None of my Orion 3600/3800 packs still had their labels after a few uses.

Well you did not look hard enough

taken from the news announcement page

Note: Approved batteries will be required to have "ROAR Approved" Label across the seam by Jan 2009. ROAR will have a grandfather clause until Jan 2009 for all approved cells at competition on the Label rule.

Well you did not read well enough

He's clearly asking about the manufacturer's product identification sticker -- the big one on top that says "Orion 3600 25C" or whatever -- not a "ROAR Approved" label across the seam as described in your excerpt above.

And they placed a "ROAR APPROVED" sticker over the seam on both of my Orion 3600 lipos at the Carpet Nats in Omaha. Which should make them legal after Jan 2009 in my mind...But, I probably will have upgraded them by then.

I tested a Thunder Power hard shell Lipo at the IIC, and it was great.
The label did not survive the clearance in my Cyclone nor the taping of weights to it, I know they are looking at revising their labels to address this concern.
