Default Losi JRXS and lipo

Hey guys,
does anybody run a jrxs with a lipo battery? Is it even possible to do?

I don't personally, but I have seen a few cars that have. Not sure the details, but it actually looked easier to manage since the battery loaded in from the bottom.

I know you can with the type R, but I heard you couldn't with the jrxs.

Hi Mike, Have you tried it?
My 3200 didn't fit unless I removed the top deck or removed the bevel under the pack. They cant slide in... Once fitted, The connectors are under the bulkhead on both sides... The pack would have to be hardwired...

Check the Type R forum, various people are running several different types of lipo's. I am running a 3200 soft case lipo in mine with a steel tray.

Haynes had one in this mid motor car his little bro was running for a while, I'm not sure if he had to modify it like you did or not, I'll check with him when he gets back from IIC.

I run the Type R and i use the Orion 3200 hardshell pack. If you set the connector side forward it will clear the upper deck next to servo saver. The only problem i had was adding weights under the battery on the lipo battery tray. It shoved the battery upwards and rubbed against both side pulleys. I "dremeled" notches in the battery case( very carefully and patiently) so no more rubbing occured. Another solution if class weight is a concern is putting weights on top of the battery in the lower shelf area. But this slightly raises the roll center so you'll have to experiement and see what worls best.

Default JRX-S PRO

Not the Type-R. I see plenty of "R"s with lipos but none in the mid motor, older PRO model. That said, has anyone run lipo in their JRX-S PRO and if so what battery? All I need is what battery, I can figure it out from there but, if you want to, please describe any chassis mods.

You have to run a softcase lipo in the car since it was not desigend to run Lipos at all. The Orion 3200 does not fit even though it looks like it would. The case is too big. Not worth modding/hacking the car to get a hard case lipo to fit.

The 4000 doesn't fit without modification. Like I said, even with the bulkhead dremeled, The diff puley rubs against the pack. You would have to shave the hard case.

It will be impossible to fit the 5000 imo.
