Default BATTERY PACKS AUSTRALIA

Hi Guys, I'm moving to Oz in October and I need to get some new battery packs when I get there. What is the max size in the 6 cell range we can run for Stock , Mini and Prostock racing there?
Also what brands are the best and what brands should i keep away from and where's the best place to go shopping

Cheers

Contact Corey and Lynnise from Amp-It-Up-RC

The Australian distributor for Slingshot cells.

We run 6-cell (up to 4600mAH), in 540, stock and 19t (10.5), and 5-cell for Mod.

Not sure on the Mini side of things.

Whereabouts are you planning to race?

Hope that helps,

Cheers

Robbie

Muzza

The current limit on all classes at most venues is 4600.

A lot of the clubs are now also allowing Lipo packs to be used as well , as long as you use a Lipo Sack for charging.

Just make sure you buy from a local matcher. Fresher stock. Either myself or Harris are your best bet

As Cannon said above you should have a look at lipo. When you work out where you are goin to race find out if lipo is legal and go down that road if it is. Generally lipo has a little less punch than nimh but your packs will still be great for racing one year from now VS nimh which lose both runtime and voltage very quickly these days.

Cheers Guys for the great response!!

We're moving tho the Central Coast, Gosford or similar area.

At the mo i race at a local club which mainly deals with nitro offroad, they have a small beginner class for 1/10 offroad using the tamiya df03 buggies, mainly to get some younger members and using a cheaper entry level car. I dont think much of them myself.
We also run an open class for onroad which is open to anything at all.

As for me, I have just got a 2nd hand TA05R with a good few hop ups, havent had it running yet, and Schumacher Mi2 which i use for onroad but it is also the donor chassis for my stockcar (class we run here in nz, new, just like the dirt speedway stockcars, steel frame, heaps of bashing) and i have a tt01 drifter and 2 df03 buggies.
The df03's will be sold b4 i come over, they aren't good for much. I'll pro look at running either stock or prostock with the ta05. Im more of a social driver, wanting some fun.
