I think I know what the problem is with the 35A esc not working with a 1 cell lipo; it's because most brushless esc's are meant for 2-3 cell lipos and require a booster to be used with a 1 cell lipo; otherwise you will have a problem with having enough power available at the end of a 5 minute race because the 1 cell lipo only puts out 3.7 volts versus 7.4 for a 2 cell lipo. Novak makes a booster just for that purpose. I happen to have a booster for my 1 cell lipo so, that should solve the problem.
I think that is what Hobbywing is getting at with their esc specs.

Default ez run 35 A upgradeable

Hi Guys, only two questions: I need to know if the ez run 35A V2 is upgradeable with softwares for stock motors of hobbywing or sp? I'll used it combined with a Feigao 17.5 motor. Is it possible to use the hobbywing lcd v1? Thanks for your answers!

hey guys im using the 60A 8.5T ezrun set. was wondering if the banana plugs, bullet connectors are needed if i want to re-solder the wires as one of them snapped. So are the plugs compulsory or am i able to just solder the wires straight from esc to motor. thanks

No you cannot use an LCD Programmer with the EzRun v1.1 but I have never tried the v2.0 EzRun, dunno...... Hmmm may give that a try.

You can cut them off and solder direct if you feel the need, personally I like the bullets except where there is limited space between the ESC and the motor, where they tend to be too inflexible and you can't tuck the wires away neatly. But no I have had Zero issues with mine when direct soldered.

If you are talking about the small black USB programer with the blue lcd display then yes it can be used with a V2 esc.

So,,I have a hold on some funds i have in paypal. by monday i will be ordering an ezrun 9T from Hobbypartz.com for $75.00 shipped. then im looking at a pair of tenergy 3800mah nihm cells. I also have some deans that need to be soldered. its all going on a sprint 2 from a 15t trinity motor w/FDR of 6.922.

Any suggestions/experience besides preffering lipos?

Does Hobbypartz ship these from somewhere in the US or do they work with the people out in hong kong?

Upon further reading, Ive read some dissappointing things about the BL 9t equivalence in brushed.

Hi there, if you read back through the thread you will see various comments about the 9T.

Personally I love it, it winds up really quickly and has more than enough top end, and it cogs rarely unless massively over geared. For the money I would search around on ebay as these combo's are available everywhere on there. However $75 is a decent price though.

+1 for the LiPo's just get some cheap ones no more than $40 last much better.

Sorex are pretty good. You may have to go with 36R or 40R if you want them to last.

+1 sorex 36's will wear well and being belted should refrain from ballooning.

But those are slicks? Arent slicks better for track and patterned better for bashing? Should i get the foam inserts even-though they are belted to help?

How about HPI x pattern pro or TQ, not sure what the difference is.
