Thanks, I've been thinking about giving the Castle a shot. Anybody have an opinion on a HobbyWing motor?

I've been having trouble with my EZrun esc and Tacon 4420kv. motor. I have this set up in a 4wd buggy with stock gearing. When I first got the esc, I plugged everything and calibrated the esc. Then after a couple minutes, the car went slow. So, I tried to enable the LVC as I run Nimh. Well, after that I had to recalibrate, but the esd doesn't respond correctly when I do that. If I give throttle, the wheels barely turn and I hear a horrible sound. Like if someone was holding all four wheels. What is wrong???

Hello to all

Found this site through google after trying to figure out what's wrong with our brushless.
We have got 2 cars with the HobbyWing 60A speed controller and they both have the 5.5t motors.
Mine is fine but lads one has a problem with the fan.
I got an uprated fan from Hong Kong and it has made no difference at all.

It's not a battery problem as we have switched various batteries and there is no difference.
Problem is that the fan doesn't even turn half as fast as the other car

My car the fan is very fast as soon as you turn it on, his fan takes about 15 seconds to get started and is half the speed.

Any ideas? thanks.

take the fan off the esc & see how fast it runs
It could be they way its screwed onto the esc twisting the fan case, or it may be rubbing on something.

It moves freely, if you plug a fan into the reciever the speed is also different from one car to the other.
This is using the same fan.

It's ok.

I experimented with the fan and in the end wired it up to the main positive and negative wires on the esc.

Also wired a extra switch just for the fan as it came on as soon as the battery was connected.

The one with the slow fan was a Verison 1 and the one with the fan at the correct speed was a Version 2.

It's all sorted now

Should I fit a small inline fuse just to be safe?

Gens ace from hobbypartz or a turnigy if ur not a big time racer. Don't know aboutthe reverse problem. Try recalibrating throttle points. The manual should also tell u what that light combination means.

Reverse throttle from transmitter, recalibrate your ESC and switch any 2 motor wires.
