Hi guys got a quick question I recently bought an ezrun 5.5 motor and 60a esc I decided to try soldering the motor wires directly to the motor the solder initially sticks but after a minute or two it becomes loose and doesn't stay on the metal contacts am I doing something wrong?would it just be easier attaching bullet connectors to the motor holes and wires any help would be appreciated

Hi, does anyone know if installing the latest software will help improve the response time of a uncensored HB speedo?

Dry joint !

Clean the tab with a little motor spray to remove any greasy residue then heat the tab first, lay a little solder on it, heat the wire lay a little solder on it, let it flow into the strands, then while hot touch wire to tab and keep heat on until you see the solder 'flow' remove heat hold until hardened then leave to cool. No problems again.
Solder is not a 'glue' it is meant to mix and flow to create a solid joint.

Hope it helps

Hi, I just had a look at the new HW software and there still isn't any new versions for for a the 60amp EZrun or 35amp either. Our only choices are the same 2 that were aviliable way back when they starting selling EZrun V.2 USB Supported ESC's. We are using the second choice version, its faster.

Here is something else to consider. The leads on the motor wires for alot of brushless motors nowadays is just a continuation of the motor winds. These wires have a thin layer of insulation on them to keep the wires from shorting out in the motor. Make sure that you remove this to get a good solder joint. I don't have any ideas other than lightly sanding as small portion of the end of the wires. A dremel might help.

If it's not the insulation, you need a better iron.I use 80W for motors(use at least 80W and not the pistol-like iron). You use flux, right? Also what soldering iron do you have?

hey i just bought a used ezrun 60a esc/ 3300kv motor and i have a few questions. first i believe the mode or set button on the esc is broke as it doesnt respond, therfor i cannot calibrate the endpoints of full throttle neutral and brake. is there any other way to do it?i mean it all works and i still have throttle neutral and brake and reverse, but just dont know if maybe i could be hurting something? also with it in a hpi blitz with 88t spur and 23t pinion the motor seems to running pretty cool but the esc is getting rather hot, and it even hit thermal cutoff the other day. only ran 1 pack 7.4 lipo 5000 30c through it ... nothing is binding or anything and from what ive read that gearing seems to be close? the esc does not have a fan on it and im wondering where the fan would go and where it would plug in if i had or got one? Thanks! other than that it runs GREAT!

Got to have a minimum of 40-45 watts. 25w isn't enough.

Hey,
I traded a 2WD SC for a 4WD and it looks like my HobbyWing motors aren't going to handle the heavier 4WD truck and drivetrain. I got the 10T and 17.5T that are actually 360 motors in a 540 can and they're getting too hot. I've got the 60A ESC. What motor should I get to pair with the Traxxas Slash 4x4?
