Sweet! I always gear for the track size & layout. Alot of the guys try to run monster horse power on the small track & it just doesn't work out. Anyone have a good starting point for gearing? I'm thinking in the sevens FDR.

I'm running a 60SL-V2 ESC with a 5.5 motor. I tried many pinions to get a decent ratio and the best I found is 5.67 (30/68 as pinion/spur gear, with an IDR at 2.50 on my Kyosho TF5 ready set). It's quite faster than with my old LRP X11 8.5 StockSpec, with good acceleration and both motor and ESC are cold. Good combo, no noticeable cogging, except when you try to run a very low speed during a few seconds.

Well for the price I can buy a CC MMM combo and have more than enough power. Also product support @ CC is the best.

I have been running the Xerun 120 with 10.5, 13.5 and 17.5 motors for a couple of weeks, no issues. Great smooth feel. Next to no heat. Great adjustability with the LCD programer (crank up the timing on the 17.5!!!!) been very happy with the equipment!!!!

Cool

Yeah, my 120a Xerun's been running smooth as silk for about 7 months with no issues too. I will say one thing about the castle systems. They have infinate program options more than the Hobbywing escs. As long as you don't mind dragging a computer around with you.
Personnally, I like the tiny LCD program box that fits in my shirt pocket. Just plug it up, make & save your changes, and go.

Hi there,

I use a ezrun 60A with my 4x2 offroad, I'm looking for a 10.5T motor approved for the french national champ, and I was wondering if I can use a sensored motor with the ezrun esc ?
Any brand motor known as work better rather than other ?

Thanks

My friends and I have been looking at the EZRun brushless systems because of their low prices but we have a question:
My local hobby shop tells me that for racing you want a sensored brushless system because the sensorless systems like the EZRun do not accelerate off the line very well, there is a lag.

Have you guys who have them found that to be true with the EZRun or not?

Please help.

More questions to follow.

No lag for me Team Lotus, I use a ezrun 60A esc with a 8.5T ezrun motor.
Absolutly no problem.
If you want a sensored esc, look for a Xerun.

Cool

I have an Xerun 120, an Ezrun 35 & 25. I just got the 35 9t system & have only run it for about 5 minutes, but it seemed to run very smooth. I've had my 25 since last July & have run three different brand motors with no cogging. It will even run a Castle 4100kv motor that the Castle wouldn't run. It cogged even while the car was still rolling. Needless to say, I don't own CC esc anymore.

Cool

The 35A 9T motor is a 540 size with a 380 rotor. Still make good power.
The motors I ran with the 25A are micro motors. One is a Ready 6100kv. The other two were Castle Creations 5400kv & the other was a 4100kv. I still have the 6100 & 4100, but I sold the 5400 with the CC esc. For some reason the 5400 had a different mounting hole pattern than the 4100. It would bolt up in my Tamtech.
Hope this helps.

Hey mate nice try, but she is my baby and stands me in for WAY too much money to sell, she probably owes me nearly £400 so no probably wouldn't ever think of selling her.

As you can see she is a thing of beauty.
