I am not really worried about testing... I would just be happy if the release it. I bet this sounds pretty ignorant but I mean how much testing does a LiPo really need? The only thing that needs testing is the BL systems... I bet the battery is fine.

There were only a couple of cases made for the prototypes as they were machined and very expensive. The production cases are being made now I believe and the cells are ready to be put in. Just a matter of the cases being done and getting them shipped in.

I'm guessing most of the testing was to see if our existing equipment will run at 3.7V under a load, and if the speeds are viable, but now our general answers to those Q's are to use a receiver pack, and go up a motor level (13.5T instead of 17.5.. )

I remember when LiPo first came out, tons of lamenting about not being 12th-compatible hit the forums.. but thanks to a few people thinking beyond what the "4-6 cell" ESC packaging told us, we won't be left behind!

I can't wait until they're launched. I might get into trouble, but hey, that's what has to be done in order to move this stuff along. At my track, we have a small group in favor of this battery, and a small group opposed to it. I'll be sticking my neck out to stir it all up.

Has anyone tested with single cell Lipo, I'm wondering what pinion and spur combinations would work on larger tracks like snowbirds, or outdoor tracks, considering the reduced voltage it would be challenging to get a high enough ratio.

We won't have rollout examples until more people have access to them. Just like anything, sneak up on it and watch your lap times.

The little motor debate on the other thread has been pretty hot n' heavy. I still feel this battery is our "next step". I think once this battery is commonly available we'll have a better feel which way thing may be headed.

I ordered my receiver pack and doodads yesterday. I want to make sure I'm ready.

I have been testing single cell and have found the gearing I had with my 4 cell to be a little low. For example my motor usually comes off around 150 with a 4 cell pack after an 8 minute race, but with a 1 cell lipo and absolutely no other changes (no weight or receiver pack or gearing changes) my motors come off about 130. I haven't had the time to test with a higher rollout to see if it gains me any faster lap times yet, but Ill keep y'all posted here asap. As far as I an tell, moving up from a 17.5 to a 13.5 made up to for the difference in voltage. I wouldn't imagine you would need any more than a 90 mm rollout for club racing on a medium sized indoor carpet track.

I made a post about my experiences with a 1 cell I made in the future of 12th scale thread. I was going to post here but wanted to respect danny's product.
