I've found that to be the case too . However i've noticed that on my carbon i get a little more zing from my pack than on the ice. Maybe it's just in my head ... I think i've made up my mind to go hyperion though.

I like the Pulsar 3 because you can calibrate it. When it charges to 8.40v, it's actually 8.40v (or 8.43v). My ICE would actually only charge to 8.35v. It's a mental thing.....

I just ordered the Hyperion ---606i something. I need a second lipo charger and it balance charges. The easy balance feature will add another level of maintenance without hassle. I think balancing is a little over hyped, but for $120 your not going to get anything more convenient.

Hands down best bang for the buck is the Check Point 1030. It will trickle charge all the way down to 0.05 or even less I think. Takes forever once it switches to constant Voltage (CV). Others cut-off when they hit 8.4v and never switch to CV, or they will not trickle as low as the Check Point does when they switch to CV. There is a lot left to be charged if you don't use one of these. I also charge at 2c (7.2A) but that's done pretty quick, and then it switches to CV when it hits 8.4v, and the current drops way down, which is what most will do. Its the cut-off point that really matters. It needs to keep pushing in the charge to get a full run. I ran mine on the discharger when I was charging with a different charger that cut-off at .4/.35, and it gave inconsistant discharges, and the ave voltage was all over the place with 25a discharge. Its much better with the CP1030, and repeats.

The next best is sold only in the UK, and is a MultiPlex 6015, and does a lot more Lipo functions than most. They are not cheap though. A lot of chrgaers seem to be limited to 5A charge rates, and its another reason the CP1030 has the advantage.

+1, the TP 610c is small and it does what it needs to do.

Hyperion also has some PC software you can use to watch your packs more carefully while they're charging. It's neat stuff, with pretty graphs and the like.

Does anyone have this charger on here that has charged two packs higher than a combined total of 10 amps? I had called Maxamps about this charger and the guy stated it would do 10amps total, not 10+10? Curious to here what a personal owner says.

To go along with that question, if I'm charging 2 7.4v LiPo's will I need a power supply that supplies more than 13.7v? I'm assuming that I will since I think I read that they top out at the high end of 8v. Any recommendations for that kind of a PS? Thanks!

The Competition Electronics 23 Amp ps should do that. You are correct, general rules of Ohm's Law state V-In must equal V-Out. Same goes for current.

Balancing is over hyped? Just wait til you get a one bad cell and your non balancing charger and pumps in over 4.2v on the good cell. Puff city baby, or even worse.

Almost burned down my buddy's Explorer at the flying field because he forgot his balance taps at home.

Hey guys I was able to really work with a Core UDC charger this past weekend and it is nice. I found that if you do balance charge, you can see the voltage of each cell in a different screen. You can actually see what the charger is doing to the 2 cells.
Also, I had a question about it this weekend and was able to talk with Adam Bailey from Schumacher this morning asking questions about the charger. I know that the customer service is great from Schumacher.

For the price the core charger is a great deal also. Not to mention the blue display is nice as well.
