Questions?? LRP Shere TC-Spec Brushed Motor Wiring Question?

I just bought the LRP Shere TC-Spec speedo for my X-Ray 007 EU. I run in the 27T Stock and 19T Spec classes at the local raceway. I know that I should have bought just a LRP Quantum speedo since I real only run brushed motors. But I like playing around with my 4.5 brushless when it is open track time.

My question is = in the manual it says I still need to run 3 wires to a brushed motor. This presents a problem since I need to be able to switch motors quickly between classes. With my old speedo I just had a deans plug on the motor, but now I need to run 3 wires to the motor. So I need to know what others have done to get around this. Or if I could just wire the 2 neg wires to the same prong on the deans plug?

Thanks for your help.

The 2 to one deans idea sounds fine. As long as its wired like the diagram it will work, just put the connector in between. The good thing with the lrp is that you don't have to do anything to the speedo to switch from brushed to brushless.

Sure...as long as you have everything perfect. If you have a defective, loose or disconnected sensor harness, it can and will (and has, many times) destroy brushless motors.

Sounds like you are talking about hard wiring it? I am talking about using deans.

If you are going to have wire on the motor then go to your LHS and go to the airplane side and get some of the high end bullet plugs and put them on.

It really depepnds on what type of motor you use with it. I have run both brushed and brushless, with a brushed I used punch 6 and brake off, with brushless(17.5) I use punch two or three, and brake set at five

Since this topic concerns the Sphere I'll ask here. Does the ESC have a built in LiPo cutoff or will I need to buy one?
