Deffo the Speed passion 13.5.

I run it with the 10.5's and it still rips them out the corners

However i run it with a Sphere, and i think it might be down to the LRP Spheres 30 degree advanced timing.

They sure do go.

Stock equiv....my foot.

I've also run a orion vortex 13.5 and tried the novak 13.5, they cant touch the SP when geared right.

Well I liked my novak, but the replacement 45% deal i dont think so. Till you ship it back they charge you all the back door charges and you can almost get a new motor a lot quicker and I mean a lot quicker. Novak great motors but the replacement is ok.

used to be we would dyno brushed motors but so much would factor in when it came to the numbers. Hood alignment, magnet zapping, brush compounds, brush face, cuts springs, balance ect ect it just goes on...

With much of the mechanical crap gone(springs, comms, brush, ect) I think now is the time for a magazine like extreme to come out with a Brushless dyno that could test all the new 13.5 motors out there. And give us alot more accurate data then we used to get with a brushed motor. I think if xtreme built one with the same intent they built there nitro dyno we could finally see real benchmarks on motors.

Next will be ESC dynos.

Both Novak and Speed Passion 13.5 are good motors. I cant say one is faster than the other and I played with both a lot.
I prefer the Novak because I like Novak's customer service and how you can call up and get technical answers or the fact they they are willing to work with racers to come up with new stuff.... that how the 21.5 and 17.5 came to be.
If all things are equal (performance wise) I will go with the product with the best support and made right here in our own backyard.... NOVAK

Sending one motor back can be costly if upgrading the motor or exchanging for a different winding. Replacing a dead motor is well worth it.

I just recently sent in two motors. 10.5 and 3.5, both completely dead from user error and rotor failure. About two weeks later, I had two motors back in hand.

I did an direct exhange for the 10.5 and Swapped the 3.5 for a 6.5. My bill was $95 total inculding shipping or $48 a motor. Novaks exhange service makes sense to me. I had two completely dead motors that needed replaced and I saved $70 compared to buying new at $80 a piece.

If you don't like Novak's customer service, then mail me your dead motors. I'll even pay the shipping.

Thank you for the "testimonial", trailranger. The program wasn't designed for customers returning functioning motors or speed controls. However, the service options exchange is popular with Novak customers---and, I guess, that is really what's important.

But, how many brush motor companies allow you to return your crispy, burned out motors for a replacement or an exchange?
